We are looking to hire a Sustainable Packaging Expert in our HBPC team based in Mumbai.

Business Context:
The One Packaging R&D Centre aims to create a waste free, net zero packaging portfolio through a world class packaging materials capability with strong partnerships and ecosystems. The Centre will enable and accelerate the creation of novel packaging solutions to help meet Unilever's packaging ambitions and completely revolutionize our packaging with particular focus on our flexible's portfolio. It is the place where future scientific leaders of the business are created. Role Summary:

To manage operational programmes needed to achieve 100% technical recyclability in flexible packaging.

Main Accountabilities:

In scope: all flexible packaging formats - sachet, pouch, flow wraps as appropriate.

Development of technical solutions and providing support for initial implementation by categories

Run technical trialing programme, associated technical testing and assessment of performance.

Improve functional properties of proposed solutions, to unlock recyclable materials application across challenging formats.

Develop cost reduction programmes for key formats.

Maintain good data access and results within appropriate systems.

Work closely with category leads, to identify key challenge areas, and technical unlocks needed.

Experiences and Skills required:

Good packaging materials understanding.

Understanding of packaging conversion technologies

Experience of running packaging material trials across value chain.

Ability to perform technical tests and to interpret results.

Ability to utilise required digital support systems (AWS, LIMS, CLM, Patbase etc)

Ability to work on patents search, prior arts analysis, and filing.

Ability to work collaboratively with external suppliers and partners.

Ability to work across time zones and in multicultural setting.

Good communication skills

Good networking skills

Work Experience:

5-7 years' experience in flexible packaging in FMCG or converting industry.

Education:

Masters in Packaging Technology, Chemical Technology or Paper Technology
