• Department : Geotechnical Department.
• Position : Pavement/Geotechnical Engineer
• Division : Pavement Design
• Job Location : Pune/Bengaluru India
• Qualification : Masters in civil engineering or B.Tech. Civil Engineering, M. Tech. in Pavement or Geotechnical Engineering,
• Experience: 2 to 10 years in Pavement Design of Infrastructure Projects (Roads, Airports, Ports and Industrial Floors).
• Position Requirements Summary :
• Expertise in designing both new Pavement Structures and Evaluation/Rehabilitation of existing Pavements.
• Basic Geotechnical background design knowledge.
• Basic knowledge of Pavement Construction Materials Specifications (aggregates, asphalt mixes, polymer modifications, concrete mixes, etc.)
• KEY Responsibilities/skillsets required :
• Design of different types of pavements (Flexible, Rigid, Interlocking Pavement Block, Natural Sone Setts and Slabs, etc.) based on international standard procedures and criteria such as AASHTO, Austroads, USACE, etc. as well as the various local country codes.
• Mechanistic Design and Finite Element Modelling in addition to the Empirical Design Methods.
• Preparation of scope of works and tender documents for Pavement Assessment Testing Programmes to be implemented on existing pavements of roadways, airfields, and other infrastructure projects, followed by detailed evaluation of the structural and functional conditions for further pavement rehabilitation design.
• BIM modelling for pavement design, with thorough knowledge of Civil 3D, REVIT and NAVISWORKS.
• Preparation of pavement design drawings, including layouts, cross sections, jointing and connection details, and relevant tender documents (Specifications, Method of Measurement and BOQ).
• Preparation of pavement design reports, pavement assessment and evaluation reports and related technical presentations
• Coordination within and outside the department for providing technical support on pavement design related works
• Airfield pavement design works according to international aviation standards (FAA, ICAO, UK M.O.D., etc.)
• Sea and/or Land Ports pavement design according to the British Port Association, European PIANC and other relevant standards.
• Attending technical meetings with Clients and Contractors to solve any design, construction, or other technical issues, including value engineering exercises, and answering Client and/or Contractors queries and comments.
