Role Overview

As the AI/ML Engineer, you will be a key architect in the development of our neurosymbolic reasoning engine. You will work alongside the founding team to integrate neural networks (like GPT, LLaMA) with symbolic reasoning models to ensure logical consistency and explainability of AI-generated outputs. Your contributions will directly impact the core technology of our platform, laying the foundation for scalable, explainable AI solutions in regulated industries.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build the core reasoning engine by combining NLP models and symbolic reasoning.

• Develop the explainability layer that allows the system to explain how AI models arrive at decisions, ensuring auditability and transparency.

• Collaborate closely with the founding team to translate cutting-edge AI research into production-ready systems.

• Work on integrating symbolic logic (e.g., Prolog, ASP, graphs) with neural network-based systems to handle real-world reasoning tasks like contract review, healthcare diagnosis systems, and more.

• Contribute to the architecture of the platform, ensuring scalability, robustness, and compliance with AI regulations (e.g., EU AI Act, GDPR).

• Help shape the engineering team culture as we grow, providing technical mentorship and promoting best practices in AI development.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in AI/ML, particularly NLP (Natural Language Processing) and neural networks (e.g., Transformers like GPT, BERT, etc.).

• Proven experience in backend development and cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure), including the deployment of machine learning models.

• Experience with enterprise software development, especially in sectors that require auditability and compliance (e.g., legal, healthcare, finance).

• Comfortable working in an early-stage startup environment with a flexible mindset and problem-solving skills.

Bonus Skills

• Strong understanding of symbolic AI, including logic programming, knowledge graphs, and reasoning engines (e.g., Prolog, ASP).

• Familiarity with explainable AI techniques like LIME, SHAP, and model interpretability.

• Experience with federated learning and distributed systems for privacy-sensitive AI.

• Familiarity with probabilistic programming or neural-symbolic integration (combining neural networks with rule-based reasoning).

• Knowledge of AI regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, EU AI Act, and HIPAA compliance.
