Job Summary:
As a Microsoft Dynamics Data Developer, you will be responsible for managing, migrating, and integrating data within the Microsoft Dynamics 365 environment. You will work closely with business analysts, solution architects, and other developers to design and implement data solutions that drive business insights, streamline data processes, and ensure data integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Integration and Migration:
Design and develop ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to migrate data from legacy systems into Microsoft Dynamics 365 (Sales, Finance & Operations, Customer Service, etc.).
Develop and implement data integration solutions between Dynamics 365 and external systems using middleware tools like Azure Logic Apps, Power Automate, SSIS, or other integration tools.
Create and maintain custom data entities, ensuring proper mapping and transformation of data.
Perform data migrations, including data cleansing, mapping, and validation, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of transferred data.
Data Management and Optimization:
Design and implement data storage strategies that optimize performance and scalability within Dynamics 365.
Develop and maintain database structures, indexes, and relationships that support Dynamics 365 applications.
Ensure the integrity and security of data, implementing best practices for data governance and compliance with regulations (e.g., GDPR).
Monitor and optimize the performance of data queries, reports, and processes to ensure efficient system operations.
Reporting and Business Intelligence:
Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and develop custom reports and dashboards using Power BI, Dynamics 365 built-in reporting tools, or SSRS.
Develop and deploy data models and visualizations that provide actionable business insights to stakeholders.
Implement Power BI reports and dashboards that connect to Dynamics 365 data sources, ensuring real-time analytics and reporting capabilities.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
Work closely with business analysts and stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into data-driven solutions.
Collaborate with solution architects and developers to design and implement end-to-end data solutions that integrate seamlessly with Dynamics 365 applications.
Provide support to users and troubleshoot data-related issues, ensuring timely resolution and continuous system improvements.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.
Experience:
o 4+ years of experience in data management, migration, or integration within Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar enterprise platforms.
o Proven experience with SQL Server, T-SQL, and database management tools.
o Experience with ETL processes and tools (e.g., SSIS, Azure Data Factory) for data migration and integration.
o Strong experience in developing reports and data models using Power BI or similar BI tools.
Skills and Competencies:
Technical Skills:
o Strong knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 data architecture and data model, including custom entities, data relationships, and database structure.
o Proficiency in data migration tools such as SSIS, KingswaySoft, Scribe, or similar ETL solutions.
o Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Logic Apps, or other cloud-based integration services.
o Advanced knowledge of SQL Server, T-SQL, and database performance optimization techniques.
o Proficiency in Power BI for building data models, reports, and dashboards that connect to Dynamics 365 data sources.
Data Management Skills:
o Strong understanding of data governance, data security, and data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR).
o Experience in designing and managing data integrations between Dynamics 365 and third-party systems.
Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills:
o Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze data-related issues and implement effective solutions.
o Ability to optimize data queries, streamline data processes, and ensure efficient data retrieval.
Communication and Collaboration:
o Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
o Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment to deliver data solutions aligned with business goals.
Preferred Qualifications:
Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Data Analyst or related certifications.
Experience with Microsoft Common Data Service (Dataverse) and the Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps).
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps for managing tasks and development workflows.
