Job Summary Sanmarg Hindi Newspaper is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Sub Editor to join our editorial desk. The ideal candidate will be responsible for editing news stories, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and readability, and maintaining the newspaper’s editorial standards. This role requires a strong command of Hindi, excellent news sense, and the ability to work under tight deadlines in a dynamic newsroom environment. Key Responsibilities Edit, write,rewrite, and fact-check news stories for print and digital platforms. Ensure grammatical accuracy, clarity, and consistency in all content. Create compelling headlines, intros, and captions. Review reporters’ copies for news value, structure, and flow. Coordinate with reporters, news coordinators, and senior editors for updates and corrections. Prioritize stories based on relevance, timeliness, and editorial requirements. Layout pages using editorial software and ensure smooth page production. Verify facts, names, locations, and data before publication. Maintain the publication’s tone, style, and editorial guidelines. Monitor breaking news and update content accordingly. Qualifications & Skills 2–4 years of experience as a sub editor or in an editorial role (preferred). Exceptional command over written Hindi, grammar, and language nuances. Strong news judgment and knowledge of current affairs. Ability to edit copy quickly and accurately under tight deadlines. Familiarity with newsroom workflows, CMS, 4C+ ,and page-making tools . Strong communication and teamwork skills.
