Business Head Job Description

The Business Head will take full ownership of the business unit's operations, growth, and profitability. This individual will lead the development and execution of the business strategy, oversee day-to-day operations, manage cross-functional teams, and drive the organization's growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning & Execution:
    • Develop and execute a business strategy that aligns with the company's overall goals.
    • Oversee the implementation of strategic initiatives and ensure they are executed effectively.
    • Monitor business performance metrics, key performance indicators (KPIs), and deliverables to ensure success.
  • Financial Management:
    • Manage the Profit and Loss (P&L) for the business unit, ensuring financial performance meets or exceeds targets.
    • Establish financial goals and manage the business budget, ensuring cost control while optimizing revenue streams.
    • Lead financial forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis, providing transparent reporting to executive management.
  • Operational Leadership:
    • Ensure smooth and efficient day-to-day operations of the business unit, adhering to organizational policies, procedures, and quality standards.
    • Identify and implement process improvements, cost-saving initiatives, and operational best practices.
  • Team Leadership & People Management:
    • Lead, inspire, and motivate a high-performing team, ensuring a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
    • Develop and implement strategies for talent acquisition, retention, and professional development.
  • Customer & Stakeholder Relationship Management:
    • Develop and nurture relationships with key clients, customers, and strategic partners, ensuring high customer satisfaction.
    • Address client concerns, resolve issues promptly, and ensure alignment between customer expectations and the organization's deliverables.
  • Business Development & Market Expansion:
    • Identify and evaluate new markets, geographies, and customer segments for business expansion.
    • Lead efforts to enter new markets, acquire new customers, and drive sustained growth in existing markets.
Required Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field is required.
  • MBA or an advanced degree from a reputed institution is preferred.
  • 20+ years of experience in business leadership roles with at least 5 years at a senior management level.
  • Proven experience in managing business units with P&L responsibility, financial management, and driving business growth.
  • Extensive experience in team leadership, strategic decision-making, and operational excellence.
  • Prior experience in the Building Materials Industry is highly desirable.
