About the Role

As an Engineer – Automation in our Finance Systems, Data & Innovation domain within Group Finance, you'll play a key role in helping to advance the way finance provides and uses data and evolves the way we function as division. This role undertakes work based on squad backlog, working closely with others to prioritise work, manage interdependencies and deliver solutions. Including:

• Using specialised knowledge on Data Wrangling tools to define workflows and roadmaps and uses customer feedback to build/introduce new features as per the requirement of Country finance teams.

• Providing key professional support to the respective line of business (Finance business areas) by ensuring the BAU run of mandated Automation solutions within stipulated SLA, and with a high level of quality.

• Understanding and knowledge of the software lifecycle, from design to release.

• Aligning and adhering to Automation design framework strategy, governance policies, processes, and standards. Managing relationships with stakeholders, sponsors and customers and managing resulting expectations on solution design, build and delivery.

What will your day look like?

As an Engineer – Automation, you will:

• Build, support and maintenance of Data Wrangling / Other Application Workflows which are built in FSDI Operational Excellence / Automation area.

• Any concerns or issues with such running of business processes are to be escalated in real-time to the respective squad leads / GPO (as applicable).

• Ensuring product continuity for data wrangling workflows, business logic and other regulatory requirements.

• As required, assist with activities in implementing the change, bug-fix and embedding process transition.

• Managing stakeholder expectations from the aligned Finance business area and work collaboratively to achieve mandated outcomes.

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

• Tertiary qualification in process, systems, or technology. Advanced Microsoft Certification is desired but not mandatory. 

• Data Wrangling tools experience (e.g., Alteryx, KNIME etc.), Robotic Process Automation (RPA) experience, Database query writing and management (SQL / Teradata), Data mining & Profiling using Python.

• 2+ years of experience in Data Science/ MIS reporting / process delivery experience on some industry-based projects is preferred. Experience in financial data analysis & data modelling would be preferred.

• Strong communication skills (written & verbal) with the ability to support trouble shooting and problem-solving requirements from data or business problems. Self-starter with the ability to work autonomously or with a team. High level of relationship building, and expectation management skills needed.

• Expert working knowledge of: 
o Database query writing and management (SQL / Teradata).
o Python, R or similar.
o Data Analysis.
o Business process understanding.
o Technical documentation.

• Working Systems knowledge of: 
o GitHub
o Microsoft SQL Server
o Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow
o Any other open-source technology experience.
