Job Description

Join as a Remote Perl Developer and collaborate with experienced team members to develop and maintain backend systems and scripting solutions in Perl. Ideal for those passionate about data-driven platforms, automation, and maintaining robust business logic. Additional interest in Generative AI tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead feature development and contribute to system architecture improvements in Perl-based systems
• Refactor and modernize legacy Perl codebases
• Optimize SQL queries and enhance system performance
• Participate in peer reviews and share knowledge with the team
• Improve CI/CD pipelines and internal tooling
• Develop and maintain web applications and scripts using Perl and Mason
• Use PostgreSQL for managing and querying application data
• Utilize Docker for local development and containerized environments
• Collaborate with QA, analysts, and developers to deliver high-quality features and resolve issues
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
• Use Git for version control and engage in regular sprints and code reviews
• Leverage Generative AI tools such as ChatGPT and GitHub Copilot for productivity

Skills and Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Perl development
• Experience with the Mason template framework
• Strong expertise in PostgreSQL and SQL query optimization
• Practical knowledge of Docker and containerization
• Familiarity with backend service logic and web application architecture
• Proficiency in Git and version control workflows
• Comfortable working in Linux-based environments
• Strong debugging and problem-solving abilities across application, database, and container layers
• Excellent English communication skills in a remote, cross-functional setup
• Bonus: Experience integrating Perl with modern APIs or services
