We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Tech Lead / Engineering Manager to join our team and lead the development of our flagship Rummy application.

The Opportunity

As the Tech Lead / Engineering Manager, you will be a pivotal member of our team, responsible for the end-to-end technical leadership of our Fair Rummy application. This is a unique role that combines hands-on technical expertise with strategic team management. You will not only be responsible for architecting and implementing core features but also for building and mentoring a high-performing engineering team from the ground up. Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Hands-on Development:

• Serve as the technical expert for the Rummy application, deep-diving into core flows and architectural decisions.
• Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and high-performance backend and frontend systems.
• Conduct code reviews, enforce coding standards, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, bug-free code.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide solutions across the entire technology stack.

Team Building & Management:

• Build, lead, and mentor a high-impact engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Define team goals, manage project timelines, and ensure the timely delivery of features.
• Actively participate in the hiring process, from sourcing and interviewing to onboarding new team members.
• Conduct performance reviews and support the professional growth of your team members.

Project & Quality Management:

• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to translate product requirements into technical specifications.
• Implement and oversee robust testing strategies, including unit and application testing, to ensure reliability and performance.
• Manage CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins to ensure seamless and frequent deployments.
• Monitor application performance, track key metrics, and implement optimizations as needed.

Required Skills & Experience

Tech Stack Expertise:

• Backend: Strong proficiency in Node.js, JavaScript (JS), and MongoDB. Experience with real-time communication using WebSockets is essential.
• Frontend / Game Engine: Hands-on experience with Unity and C#. Familiarity with native mobile development (Kotlin for Android, Swift/SwiftUI for iOS) is a strong plus.
• Cloud & Infrastructure: Experience with AWS for cloud hosting and a solid understanding of technologies like Redis for caching and Kafka for real-time data processing and BI.
• Tools: Familiarity with NUnit for unit testing and Jenkins for CI/CD.
• Real-time Communication: Proven experience with WebSocket implementation for real-time game communication.

Leadership:

• Proven experience in a Tech Lead or Engineering Manager role, with a track record of building and leading successful teams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a data-driven approach to decision-making.

Domain Knowledge:

• Previous experience in the gaming industry, particularly with real-time multiplayer real money games, is must.
• A deep understanding of the full software development lifecycle.
