Senior Professors at Woxsen are expected to go beyond teaching—to lead intellectual inquiry, inspire societal impact, and nurture the next generation of thinkers, writers, creators, and change agents.


Key Responsibilities

Academic Leadership

  • Deliver high-quality, research-informed teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programs in relevant liberal arts disciplines (e.g., Psychology, English, Philosophy, Sociology, Political Science, Cultural Studies, History, Media & Communication, etc.).
  • Develop innovative, interdisciplinary curricula that integrate cognitive, digital, and global perspectives.
  • Mentor and guide junior faculty in pedagogy, research design, and publication.
  • Serve as a thought leader in curriculum innovation and academic excellence initiatives within the School.

Research & Scholarship

  • Lead and participate in cutting-edge research projects aligned with Woxsen’s “Moonshot Themes” and global research strategy.
  • Publish in top-tier international journals and contribute to books, policy papers, and public scholarship.
  • Supervise doctoral and postgraduate theses with an emphasis on originality and applied impact.
  • Collaborate across disciplines to produce high-impact, externally funded research and develop new research clusters.

Institutional & Strategic Contribution

  • Contribute to the School’s strategy for growth, visibility, and global engagement.
  • Support the Dean in establishing academic partnerships, funding proposals, and institutional collaborations.
  • Represent the School in national and international forums, conferences, and media engagements.
  • Engage with the Woxsen Centre for Interdisciplinary Research (WCIR) and other internal think tanks to translate theory into policy and practice.

Student Mentorship & Engagement

  • Provide academic advising, career guidance, and intellectual mentorship to students.
  • Foster a culture of inquiry, creativity, and ethical reflection among learners.
  • Support student-led research, writing, and community engagement projects.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Ph.D. in a relevant discipline within Liberal Arts & Humanities from a reputed university.
  • Minimum 12–15 years of academic experience, including at least 5 years at the level of Professor/Senior Professor.
  • Strong record of peer-reviewed publications, citations, and/or creative outputs (books, essays, exhibitions, public scholarship, etc.).
  • Proven experience in research leadership, curriculum design, and faculty mentoring.
  • Demonstrated ability to secure research grants, manage projects, and build international collaborations.
  • Experience in liberal arts innovation, critical thinking pedagogy, or interdisciplinary education preferred.
