GCP Compute Engineer (8-10 Years Experience) – Bangalore/Hyderabad Role: GCP Compute Engineer Experience: 8-10 years Location: Bangalore / Hyderabad Employment Type: Full-time Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled GCP Compute Engineer to design, deploy, and optimize cloud-based infrastructure solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) . The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Compute Engine, Kubernetes, Networking, Security, and Automation , ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud environments. Key Responsibilities: 1. Infrastructure Design & Deployment: Architect, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) . Design and deploy Compute Engine, GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine), and App Engine solutions. Ensure high availability, scalability, and security of cloud resources. 2. Automation & Optimization: Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform, Ansible, or Deployment Manager . Optimize cloud costs through right-sizing, scaling strategies, and resource monitoring . Implement CI/CD pipelines for efficient deployment workflows. 3. Security & Compliance: Enforce security best practices in GCP environments (IAM, VPC Service Controls, Security Policies). Implement and maintain network security, firewall rules, and encryption strategies . Ensure compliance with industry standards (ISO, SOC2, GDPR). 4. Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Set up logging, monitoring, and alerting using Stackdriver (Cloud Logging, Cloud Monitoring). Troubleshoot performance issues in Compute Engine, Kubernetes, and Networking . Conduct root cause analysis and provide resolutions for cloud-related incidents. 5. Collaboration & Documentation: Work closely with development, security, and DevOps teams to integrate cloud solutions. Document architectures, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures. Provide guidance and training on GCP best practices to internal teams. Required Skills & Experience: 8-10 years of experience in IT infrastructure, with at least 4+ years on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) . Strong experience in GCP Compute Engine, GKE (Kubernetes), App Engine, Cloud Functions, Cloud Run . Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Deployment Manager, or Ansible . Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Shell, or Go for automation. Solid understanding of networking concepts (VPC, Subnets, Firewalls, Load Balancing, DNS). Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Cloud Build, Jenkins, GitHub Actions). Strong knowledge of security best practices in cloud environments. Experience with monitoring tools (Cloud Logging, Cloud Monitoring, Prometheus, Grafana). Hands-on experience with Google Cloud IAM, KMS, Cloud Armor, and Security Command Center . Familiarity with container orchestration using Kubernetes (GKE) and Docker . Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications: Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect / Professional Cloud Engineer certification. Experience with multi-cloud/hybrid cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) . Exposure to BigQuery, Dataflow, and other GCP data services . Understanding of SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) principles .
