About the Role:

We are seeking a meticulous and analytical AV Data Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will be at the heart of ensuring the safety and reliability of autonomous vehicle technology. You will perform critical analysis of a self-driving systems' performance, helping to measure and improve the accuracy of AI models. Your work will directly contribute to the continued trustworthiness of driverless readiness recommendations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meticulously review autonomous vehicle drive logs to manually identify and validate vehicle capabilities, establishing a "ground truth" for analysis.
  • Compare the established ground truth against the output of automated AI extractors to measure performance.
  • Identify and count true positives, false negatives, and false positives to determine extractor completeness and accuracy.
  • Classify extracted events based on their perceived rarity, risk, or typicality.
  • Contribute to the creation and publication of key performance metrics, including precision and recall.
  • Utilize scene mining and data exploration tools to analyze large, diverse datasets.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A highly detail-oriented and analytical mindset.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of autonomous vehicle (AV) systems and capabilities, comparable to experience in AV scene annotation.
  • Experience using data analysis or scene mining tools.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and discrepancies in complex datasets.

Preferred Skills:

  • Direct experience with data exploration tools such as Applied Data Explorer or Pylon.
  • Prior experience working on performance analysis for AI or machine learning models.
  • Familiarity with performance metrics such as precision, recall, and false positives.
