About VedicScanVedicscan is an early-stage startup on a mission to modernize Indian astrology with artificial intelligence.We combine authentic Vedic scriptures with AI precision to deliver personalized life insights, compatibility analysis, baby naming recommendations, and auspicious timing suggestions — all through a simple digital experience.Our vision is to make ancient wisdom actionable for the modern world.Rove OverviewWe’re looking for a Technical Co-Founder / Founding Engineer who will own the product’s technical foundation — from architecture to deployment — and shape the roadmap alongside the founding team.This is a rare opportunity to join early, influence every technical and product decision, and help build a consumer product rooted in culture and powered by data.ResponsibilitiesLead the technical design, development, and deployment of Vedicscan’s MVP and future releases.Build APIs and microservices to generate astrological charts, predictions, and compatibility scores using scripture-based logic.Integrate or fine-tune AI/LLM models for personalized insights and recommendations.Collaborate closely on product strategy, UX, and data infrastructure.Manage hosting (AWS / GCP / Supabase / Firebase) and DevOps pipelines for early versions.Mentor early engineering hires as the team scales.Who you areExperience with astrology is a must (2 years working in the Astrology space or from an Astrology family background with good knowledge on the subject).Builder mindset — excited about zero-to-one product creation.Proficient in JavaScript / TypeScript (React, Node.Js) or Python (FastAPI, Flask, Django).Familiarity with AI/ML integrations, Supabase / Firebase, and PostgreSQL / NoSQL databases.Strong understanding of API architecture and third-party integrations.Self-driven, creative, and comfortable working in ambiguity.Ready to work more than 20 hours/week.What we offerEquity (Co-founder level) stake or founding engineer equity + stipend depending on contribution and commitment.Freedom to choose tech stack and shape product direction.Opportunity to build something that blends AI innovation with Indian cultural depth.Work directly with the founder (MBA, UW–Madison | Ex-Product Manager at Perficient / Caterpillar).Next steps - If you are intrested please send your answer to the below questions to chetan@vedicscan.com 1.
