Senior IT System Administrator – On-Prem Enterprise Location: Mohali , Punjab | Type: Full-Time | On-Site OnlyAbout the RoleTayal & Co., a leading engineering and manufacturing company serving Indian Railways for over 25 years, is undergoing a complete digital transformation under its Enterprise Architecture initiative. We are hiring an experienced Senior IT System Administrator to manage, secure, and scale our enterprise infrastructure — fully on-premises, with no dependency on cloud services. The position requires an individual with deep technical capability in server administration, data governance, Active Directory management, and IT security compliance across departments.This is not a routine IT support role. It is a core infrastructure management position that forms the backbone of Tayalco’s enterprise digital ecosystem, ensuring uninterrupted operations, controlled data flow, and absolute system integrity.Key ResponsibilitiesServer and Hardware Management: Oversee Lenovo-based server infrastructure, including RAID configuration, NIC teaming, firmware management, UPS load balancing, and storage optimization for a multi-terabyte architecture.Active Directory and Access Control: Design and maintain AD structures, manage OUs and Group Policies, and enforce strict access governance for inter- and intra-departmental security compliance.Email Systems and Archiving: Lead end-to-end migration from legacy platforms to enterprise-grade email infrastructure; implement journaling, indexing, and on-prem archival mechanisms ensuring complete traceability and regulatory compliance.File Server and Data Security: Manage departmental file hierarchies, NTFS permissions, and FSRM policies for quotas, file screening, and automated archiving. Monitor activity logs (Event IDs 4663, 4660, 4728, 4732) for full auditability.Network and Firewall Management: Configure and maintain VLANs, switches, trunk ports, and firewalls. Enforce web and application filtering policies through Sophos or equivalent systems to maintain a secure internal network.Monitoring, Reporting, and Compliance: Submit daily reports on server utilization, CPU/RAM load, access logs, and security audits to management. Maintain documentation for all infrastructure changes and ensure data backups are verified and restorable.System Security and Governance: Implement least-privilege and dual-admin frameworks for sensitive operations, apply endpoint control, and conduct periodic review of access logs and compliance policies.Required Skills and Experience3–5 years of experience managing Windows Server 2016/2019/2022, Active Directory, and enterprise GPO environments.Strong expertise in RAID configuration, NTFS permissions, PowerShell scripting, and server hardening.Proficiency in MailStore Server or similar enterprise-level archiving tools.Working knowledge of VLAN design, DHCP, DNS, subnetting, firewall policies, and network monitoring tools.Experience in system auditing, endpoint lockdown, and IT compliance documentation.Proven ability to manage and secure on-prem infrastructure independently under direct management supervision.Local from Mohali , Chandigarh or Kharar or nearby much preferredWhy Join Tayal & Co.This is a high-responsibility technical position forming the core of Tayalco’s on-prem enterprise transformation.
