About the Role

We are hiring a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the technical strategy, architecture, and delivery of our cybersecurity platform.

This is a hands-on leadership role: you'll be building and scaling a small, high-performing team, owning end-to-end engineering execution, and laying the foundation for our product and culture.

Responsibilities

  • Own and execute the engineering roadmap in alignment with company goals
  • Build and scale a lean engineering team, hiring and mentoring talent
  • Drive the design, development, and delivery of secure, scalable software products
  • Establish best practices in coding, testing, CI/CD, observability, and architecture
  • Collaborate with founders, product, and design to translate business needs into technical execution
  • Make technical decisions on architecture, tools, and platform design
  • Set and track engineering KPIs for velocity, quality, and reliability
  • Ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards
  • Stay ahead of emerging technologies and bring in the right innovations at the right time

Success in the First 12 Months

  • Build and scale an initial engineering team of 5–7 engineers
  • Deliver the MVP release of Visiblaze IQ and set the roadmap for enterprise readiness
  • Establish secure, automated CI/CD pipelines and monitoring baselines
  • Define and document engineering best practices and architecture standards
  • Demonstrate measurable improvements in team velocity and product quality

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of professional software engineering experience
  • At least 4+ years hands-on development
  • At least 2–3 years in engineering management (team building, delivery)
  • Proven ability to hire, mentor, and grow engineering talent
  • Experience delivering SaaS products (cybersecurity, cloud, or compliance preferred)
  • Strong foundation in system architecture, microservices, and cloud-native design
  • Proficiency in PostgreSQL, Redis, and scalable data modeling
  • Experience with REST APIs and GraphQL
  • Familiarity with AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda) or similar cloud environments
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins)
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Kubernetes or container orchestration platforms
  • Familiarity with event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Redis Streams)
  • Experience with monitoring & logging tools (Prometheus, ELK, CloudWatch)
  • Exposure to compliance-driven environments (SOC 2, ISO 27001)
  • Understanding of security best practices for SaaS products
