Description:
Responsible for assessing, designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating virtual, online, and
instructor-led learning programs for the enterprise, using company web and video conferencing products and e-learning authoring tools, while remaining consistent with department and company policies and procedures; create and design documents/materials and select various instructional methods for training programs, based on learning theory, ensuring chosen procedures appropriately tie in with approved training content/programs; utilize a variety of tools and systems to create training materials and content that appropriately captures audiences and aids in the learning of necessary information; collaborate with subject matter experts as necessary, to review, develop, and implement learning solutions through both facilitator and e-learning methods; create new learning curriculum for the LMS, and enter training program content into the system while updating older content as necessary; develop and upload content across multiple platforms, effectively utilizing the full capability of the company LMS system.
What You'll Do:
- As assigned, review current available training programs and evaluate company-wide skills, knowledge, and ability gaps for potential learning programs and content creation
- Review potential and recommended training programs with leadership and internal customers to determine content creation projects that would have the highest return on investment (ROI) for the organization
- Create and design documents/materials and select various instructional methods for training programs, based on learning theory, ensuring chosen procedures appropriately tie in with approved training content/programs
- Utilize a variety of tools and systems to create training materials and content that appropriately captures audiences and aids in the learning of necessary information
- Ensure a variety of e-learning and hard copy materials are created for an assortment of training sessions and audiences, as defined by internal customer group needs
- As necessary develop storyboards, scripts, videos, audio files, simple simulations, assessments, and job aids that meet business specifications and training needs
- Develop learning materials (e.g., learner guides, handouts, PowerPoint presentations, e learning campaigns, etc.) for instructors and participants to ensure a flawless learning delivery
- Collaborate with subject matter experts as necessary, to review, develop, and implement learning solutions through both facilitator and e-learning methods
- Ensure that learning materials adhere to learning requirements, adequately support established learning objectives, and properly follow department and company policies and procedures
- Conduct pilot sessions on course materials prior to delivering to trainees to ensure validity, making course corrections as necessary prior to official training program launches
- Create post-course evaluations to ensure transfer of knowledge and skills
- Analyze post-course evaluation data and adequately report information back to leadership team and internal customers as applicable
- Review course evaluation data and use feedback to improve learning initiatives, materials, tools, and delivery methods
- Coordinate research of additional learning products and services, recommending changes, revisions and methods to improve learning materials as applicable
- Continuously stay up-to-date one-learning tools available in the market and best practices in regards to content and instructional design
Applicant for this job will be expected to meet the following minimum qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in instructional design, communications, educational technology, or a related field is required
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in instructional design, communications, educational technology, or a related field is preferred
- Equivalent work experience in a similar position may be substituted for educational requirements
What Experiences You Bring:
- Minimum two years' experience in a corporate learning organization required, preferably with familiarity of both facilitator lead and e-learning programs
- Minimum two years of e-learning authoring and instructional design experience required
- Minimum one year learning management system (LMS) experience is required
- Previous experience with adult learning theories such as ADDIE and Kirkpatrick's Four Levels of Evaluation is preferred
Other:
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required
- Previous experience withe-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline 2, Brainshark,
- Captivate, Camtasia, etc.) experience preferred
