Job Description :

As a Mainframe Tester, you will play a critical role in our software development lifecycle. You will work closely with developers, analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality mainframe applications. Your expertise in mainframe testing, combined with your understanding of banking/mortgage domains, will be essential to your success.

Key Responsibilities :

- Perform comprehensive testing of mainframe applications, including functional, integration, and regression testing.

- Analyze COBOL code to understand application logic and identify potential issues.

- Write and execute JCL/SORT scripts for data manipulation and job execution.

- Test VSAM and CICS applications, ensuring their functionality and performance.

- Validate DB2 database operations and data integrity.

- Utilize Expeditor tools for debugging and troubleshooting.

- Develop test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on requirements and specifications.

- Execute test cases and document test results.

- Identify, report, and track defects using defect tracking tools.

- Gain exposure to and assist with automation testing using Selenium, Java, Cucumber, and JQuery (desirable).

- Apply knowledge of the banking/mortgage domain to ensure thorough testing of relevant applications.

- Understand and validate business requirements and processes.

- Collaborate with developers, analysts, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure quality.

- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.

- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and sprint reviews.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

Experience :

- 4-6 years of experience in mainframe testing.

- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with mainframe technologies.

Technical Skills :

- Excellent understanding of mainframe technologies : COBOL, JCL/SORT, VSAM, CICS, DB2.

- Proficiency in analyzing COBOL code and writing JCL/SORT scripts.

- Experience with Expeditor tools.

- Exposure to Automation testing using Selenium, Java, Cucumber, and JQuery (desirable).

- Familiarity with defect tracking tools.
