QA Lead – Embedded Systems & Automation Testing

Location: Mumbai / Noida

Work Type: Hybrid (Office + Remote)

Experience Required: 5–6 years or more in Software Quality Assurance

Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced QA Lead with strong expertise in Automation Testing using Java and Selenium, along with proven hands-on experience in Embedded Systems testing. The selected candidate will lead and contribute individually to quality assurance efforts for Web, Desktop, Mobile, and Embedded applications.

This role involves test planning, execution, automation, defect tracking, and client communication, especially global clients and teams. The ideal candidate should be a self-starter with a passion for testing and a track record of delivering high-quality quality assurance practices.

Key responsibilities:
  • Lead QA efforts across Web, Desktop, Mobile, and Embedded software platforms.
  • Plan, design, and execute automated and manual functional test cases.
  • Perform embedded systems testing, including hardware-software integration.
  • Ensure test coverage for edge cases, corner cases, and end-user scenarios.
  • Prepare detailed Test Plans, test cases, and test reports.
  • Track, document, and manage defects using tools like Jira, ALM, or TestRail.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including development, product, and business analysts.
  • Mentor junior QA engineers and promote testing best practices.
  • Generate comprehensive test reports for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Communicate test progress and issues to US-based clients, including support aligned to Central Standard Time (CST).
  • Drive QA process improvements, test efficiency, and team productivity.
Skills & qualifications:

Must haves:

  • Hands-on experience in Embedded Systems testing.
  • Proficient in Automation Testing using Selenium and Java.
  • Functional testing experience across Web, Desktop, and Embedded platforms.
  • Strong skills in test case design, execution, and defect management.
  • Familiarity with test management tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail, ALM).
  • Excellent understanding of software testing methodologies and strategies.

Preferred:

  • B.Tech/B.E. in Computer Science, Electronics, EXTC, or related fields.
  • B.Sc. IT/CS or MCA also accepted.
  • ISTQB Certification is a plus.
  • Experience with Agile development and testing processes.
  • Exposure to client communication and reporting for global projects.
Soft skills:
  • Excellent communication skills in English (spoken and written).
  • Strong interpersonal and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
  • Flexibility to support clients in CST timezone
