Amazon Pay is seeking an experienced Software Development Manager to lead and motivate a team building the next generation of our payments platform and products. As the Software Development Manager, you will:

- Lead a talented team of Software Development Engineers in the delivery of key product features and enhancements that drive critical business metrics
- Oversee the development of solutions across a diverse technology stack, including service-oriented architecture, UI frameworks, big data, and AI/ML
- Shape the product direction by working closely with Principal Engineers to evolve the design and architecture of the team's products
- Establish and uphold high standards for software quality and engineering processes
- Provide technical leadership and direction to your team of seasoned Software Engineers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 5+ years of engineering experience
- 5+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience managing a team of high calibre Software Engineers developing complex, world class, scalable software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
- Experience in leading the definition and development of multi tier web services
