About Renate Capital Fund I

Renate Capital Fund I is a Category II AIF Venture Capital Fund, investing inrevenue-positive Indian startups solving core Indian problems. We invest a larger cheque and take controlling/major stakes in startups raising Seed Rounds, and target disciplined 18–24 month exits with 3×< returns. The fund is sector-agnostic, backed by the Renate ecosystem across consulting, finance, housing, aviation, exports, skilling, and sustainability.

Role Overview

As a Venture Fund Associate, you will be part of the core team, working directly under the Managing Director, and will be responsible for sourcing investors, structuring deals, closing deals, evaluating startups, managing due diligence, and supporting portfolio companies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deal Sourcing: Identify investors/LPs (Limited Partners) through networks, events, inbound leads, accelerators, and referrals.
  • Evaluation of Investments : Analyze business models, financials, traction, and scalability of potential investments.
  • Due Diligence: Support legal, financial, and compliance checks on shortlisted startups.
  • Portfolio Support: Work with portfolio companies on fundraising, growth strategy, and performance tracking.
  • Market Research: Conduct deep dives into sectors, prepare market maps, and identify emerging opportunities.
  • Fund Operations: Assist with investment memos, reporting to LPs, and internal fund documentation.
  • Ecosystem Building: Represent Renate Capital at startup events, demo days, and founder meetings.
Requirements
  • Completed or Ongoing Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
  • 6-12 Months of experience in VC, PE, consulting, investment banking, or startup strategy.
  • Strong financial modelling and analytical skills.
  • Strong networking skills and prior built-up network.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable working in a fast-paced, lean team environment.
Compensation
  • Fixed monthly salary ₹18,000 LPA to ₹28,000 LPA.
