About the Role

We are hiring a hands-on Data Platform Engineering Lead to architect and scale the core data foundation behind our enterprise SaaS and AI-driven products. You'll lead the design of clean, scalable models, drive data platform strategy, and enable a high-velocity product development culture.

You'll own everything from dbt pipelines and PostgreSQL modeling to data quality, data testing, and deployment —while collaborating cross-functionally to make data a strategic advantage.

What You'll Do

  • Architect, develop, and maintain a robust semantic layer and modular dbt pipelines
  • Own schema design, documentation, and data contracts across the analytics and application layer
  • Define and enforce data platform best practices, versioning, and governance for all data models
  • Implement data testing, observability, and quality automation to ensure confidence at scale
  • Guide tool selection and platform evolution across the modern data stack
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and analytics teams to ship reliable data-backed features
  • Mentor a growing team of engineers and participate in architecture planning and reviews

Must-Have Skills & Experience

Data Engineering & Modeling

  • 10+ years of experience in backend or data engineering roles
  • Deep experience designing and maintaining normalized and dimensional data models
  • Advanced expertise in dbt (macros, packages, tests, modularization, docs)
  • Expert in SQL, with a focus on PostgreSQL
  • Strong Python scripting for transformation logic and automation

Data Infrastructure & Tooling

  • Proven experience with tools in the modern data stack, including:
  • dbt (Cloud or Core)
  • PostgreSQL (primary engine)
  • Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect for orchestration
  • Great Expectations or dbt tests for data quality
  • Fivetran, Airbyte, or custom loaders for ingestion
  • GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or CircleCI for CI/CD
  • Terraform or IaC for platform provisioning (Snowflake, dbt Cloud, PostgreSQL configs)
  • Optional: Monte Carlo, Atlan, DataHub, or other metadata/lineage platforms

Enterprise Experience

  • Good to have: experience with Oracle 12c, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), or NetSuite integrations
  • Familiarity with ERP/financial schema structures (chart of accounts, ledgers, invoicing)

Leadership & Communication

  • 6+ years in engineering leadership, architecture, or tech lead roles
  • Excellent collaboration skills across engineering, product, and analytics
  • Strong communicator—can author technical documentation and explain system tradeoffs
