Job Title: 3D Piping Modeler

Location: Pune

Job Summary:

The 3D Piping Modeler will design, develop, and model piping systems using 3D CAD software to support industrial facility construction.

This role requires close collaboration with engineers, designers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate, clash-free piping models ready for fabrication.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop precise 3D models of piping systems based on project requirements, engineering specifications, and design standards.
  • Use industry-standard 3D CAD tools such as AutoCAD Plant 3D, CadWorx, or Navisworks for modeling, visualization, and design refinement.
  • Conduct clash detection and coordination to ensure piping systems fit seamlessly into the overall plant design.
  • Work closely with engineers and design teams to integrate piping models into plant layouts.
  • Generate and manage detailed material lists (pipes, valves, fittings, supports) for procurement and construction.
  • Modify 3D models to reflect design changes and updated specifications.
  • Ensure all models comply with industry standards and company procedures.
  • Maintain accurate design documentation, including drawings, layouts, and reports for construction and permitting.
  • Ensure designs adhere to relevant codes and standards (ASME, ANSI, ISO, etc.).
  • Assist with site surveys or field measurements to ensure the accuracy of 3D models.
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software (AutoCAD Plant 3D, CadWorx, Navisworks, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of piping systems, components, and industrial design standards.
  • Knowledge of materials, construction methods, and installation techniques.
  • Experience in clash detection, conflict resolution, and 3D modeling principles.
  • Ability to prepare piping layouts and routing designs.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Familiarity with P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagram) interpretation.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, or power generation sectors.
  • Certification or training in 3D modeling or piping design software.
  • Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling) applications in piping design.
Educational Requirements:

Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (or equivalent industry experience).

Experience:

3-5 years of experience in 3D piping design or modeling for industrial projects.
