Job Purpose:

The Head of Utility Sales will be responsible for building and scaling Loom Solar's presence in the Solar Panel EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) and IPP (Independent Power Producer) sales vertical, focusing on projects ranging from 1MW to 100MW. This role involves developing a strong network of large EPC partners and bidders participating in tenders, driving topline revenue, profitability, and significantly increasing the market share of Loom Solar's Utility Division. You will act as a strategic leader, building and maintaining key client relationships and positioning Loom Solar as a preferred partner for large-scale solar You Will Be Doing:

- Vertical Development: Strategically build and establish Loom Solar's presence and market share within the utility-scale solar EPC/IPP sector (1MW - 100MW projects).

- Network Development: Develop and cultivate a robust network of large EPC companies, IPP developers, and key stakeholders involved in utility-scale solar tenders and projects.

- Relationship Management (Key Clients): Focus on building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers within IPP solar companies. Act as the primary point of contact and strategic advisor for orders exceeding 1MW.

- Client Needs Assessment: Thoroughly understand clients' specific requirements for solar panels, inverters, and battery storage solutions for their utility-scale projects.

- Solution Recommendation: Based on client needs, recommend optimal Loom Solar modules and battery solutions, highlighting technical specifications, performance advantages, and value proposition.

- Sales Strategy and Execution: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to penetrate the utility-scale market, secure large-scale orders, and achieve ambitious revenue and profitability targets.

- Tender Management: Identify relevant solar tenders, manage the bidding process in collaboration with technical and commercial teams, and ensure competitive and compelling proposals are submitted.

- Market Research and Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research to identify potential clients, understand market trends, analyze competitor activities, and assess overall market dynamics within the utility-scale solar sector.

- Growth Opportunity Identification: Proactively identify and evaluate new growth opportunities within the utility-scale segment, including potential partnerships, new product requirements, and emerging market trends.

- Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including technical, product development, marketing, and finance, to ensure seamless project execution and client satisfaction.

- Sales Forecasting and Reporting: Develop and maintain accurate sales forecasts for the utility division, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide regular reports to senior management on progress and market insights.

- Contract Negotiation: Lead and manage the negotiation of commercial terms and contracts with EPC partners and IPP clients.

- Brand Building: Represent Loom Solar at industry events, conferences, and forums to build brand awareness and establish the company as a credible player in the utility-scale solar Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree in a relevant field is a plus.

- Experience: Minimum of 8-12 years of proven experience in sales and business development within the solar energy sector, with a significant focus on the utility-scale (1MW+) segment.

- EPC/IPP Sales Expertise: Deep understanding of the Solar EPC and IPP business models, procurement processes, and key players in the Indian utility-scale solar market.

- Network in Utility Sector: Established network of strong relationships with key decision-makers (technical and commercial) within IPP solar companies, large EPC contractors, and relevant government agencies/authorities.

- Technical Acumen: Strong technical understanding of solar PV modules, inverters, battery storage systems, and overall solar project development. Ability to articulate technical specifications and benefits to clients.

- Tender and Bidding Process: Proven experience in identifying, managing, and winning large-scale solar tenders. Understanding of tender requirements and bidding strategies.

- Sales and Negotiation Skills: Excellent sales, negotiation, and presentation skills with a track record of closing large deals and building long-term client relationships.

- Market Analysis Skills: Strong analytical skills to conduct market research, analyze market trends, and identify growth opportunities.

- Financial Acumen: Understanding of project economics, profitability analysis, and commercial terms.

- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills. Ability to influence and negotiate effectively at senior management levels.

- Leadership and Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically, develop and execute sales plans, and lead Loom Solar's growth in the utility-scale sector.

- Travel: Willingness to travel extensively to meet clients, attend industry events, and pursue business Qualifications:

- Existing strong relationships with key personnel in major Indian IPP companies and large-scale EPC contractors.

- Experience in selling solar modules and/or balance of system (BOS) components for utility-scale projects.

- Knowledge of relevant government policies, regulations, and incentives related to utility-scale solar in India.

- Experience with CRM software for managing sales activities and client relationships.
