Job Description: Architect – Architectural Content Writer & Junior Editor Location: Remote / Hybrid Experience: 0–3 Years BuildTeams is seeking an architect with a strong flair for architectural journalism, editorial work, and content creation . This role blends design knowledge with storytelling, editorial excellence, and creative communication. If you are passionate about architecture, writing, curation, and shaping meaningful discourse in the design industry, this role is for you. Key Responsibilities 1. Content Creation & Architectural Journalism Write, edit, and develop high-quality articles, features, interviews, and project stories. Curate architectural and interior design projects from India and abroad. Craft narratives that highlight design concepts, process, context, and innovation. Produce content for blogs, newsletters, magazine issues, website pages, and social platforms. 2. Design Critique & Research Critically analyse architectural projects with a strong understanding of spatial design, materiality, sustainability, and user experience. Conduct deep-dive research on design topics, trends, technologies, and global architectural movements. Prepare reference notes, project summaries, and structured research to support editorial work. 3. Junior Editor Responsibilities Assist in building and managing the editorial calendar for the magazine and digital platforms. Perform editing, proofreading, fact-checking, and quality checks on submitted content. Coordinate with contributors, writers, and external collaborators to ensure timely submissions. Maintain consistency in tone, grammar, voice, and design accuracy across all written content. Prepare article briefs, content outlines, and editorial guidelines. Help in shaping the overall editorial vision of the magazine. 4. Magazine Promotion & Community Engagement Support the promotion of BuildTeams’ magazine across digital channels. Write promotional posts, highlight reels, teasers, and feature announcements for social media. Assist in planning campaigns for new issue releases, special editions, and thematic features. Build relationships with architects, studios, design schools, and creative communities to grow magazine readership. Collaborate with the marketing team to improve visibility, engagement, and subscriber growth. Participate in content strategy discussions to enhance the magazine’s editorial impact. 5. Creative Strategy & Collaboration Work closely with BuildTeams leadership to align editorial direction with brand goals. Collaborate with designers, marketers, and content creators to produce visually engaging narratives. Support in brainstorming sessions for new formats—interviews, photo essays, opinion columns, research features, etc. Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (B.Arch) or equivalent. Strong command over written English with a flair for storytelling. Interest or experience in architectural journalism, design critique, or research. Strong editorial sense—grammar, structure, and clarity. Ability to analyse and articulate architectural concepts effectively. Highly detail-oriented with strong organisation skills. Comfortable working with deadlines in a content-driven environment. Preferred Skills (Not Mandatory) Previous experience in journalism, editorial roles, or magazine writing. Understanding of digital content (SEO, social media, blog strategy). Basic visual communication skills (Photoshop, InDesign, Canva, etc.). Photography, videography, or interest in visual storytelling.
