About the Role

Auric AI Labs is building an AI-powered vision intelligence platform for national defense. We process multi-sensor satellite and drone imagery to detect and classify high-value military assets and track tactical changes across time and geography.

 We are seeking a sharp, detail-oriented Defense Image Analyst to work closely with our AI and data engineering teams. You will analyze satellite/drone imagery, identify military hardware, detect changes over time, and provide strategic intelligence that improves both our AI models and mission output.

What You'll Do

Object Identification & Labeling

  • Visually identify tanks, missile systems, radars, and associated infrastructure.
  • Annotate satellite/drone imagery using structured labeling tools.
  • Maintain consistency across labeling and track label accuracy.

Taxonomy & Ground Truthing

  • Develop and refine classification hierarchies for military equipment (e.g., MBT → Arjun/T-90 → camouflaged/decoy).
  • Serve as the ground-truth authority to validate and audit AI detections.
  • Flag and explain false positives/negatives, edge cases, and ambiguous detections.

Change Detection & Intelligence Tracking

  • Analyze time-series imagery to detect build-ups, relocations, or disappearances.
  • Correlate movements with known military logistics, border activities, and terrain.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work with CV engineers to prioritize model improvements based on operational impact.
  • Guide engineers on labeling flows and dataset selection.
  • Provide insights to product teams on end-user workflows for military and strategic analysts.

Preferred Background

  • Bachelor's or Master's in defense studies, geopolitics, intelligence analysis, or remote sensing.
  • Military intelligence or IMINT background (civilian or uniformed) highly preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with tools like QGIS, Google Earth Pro, CVAT/Label Studio.
  • Familiarity with military ORBATs, vehicle recognition, and open-source defense imagery.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with SAR/IR data.
  • Familiarity with ORBAT/Millitary Structure.
  • Intelligence report writing or mapping experience.
