Ciklum is looking for a Senior Network Engineer to join our team full-time in Chennai.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Engineer who is proficient in designing, implementing, and managing complex network environments to join our global internal IT team in Chennai or Pune. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with Cisco Catalyst series switches, specifically the 2960, 1000, 3650, 3850, 9200, and 9300 series. In addition, expertise in configuring and managing WatchGuard firewalls, including site-to-site (s2s) and remote access VPNs, is essential.
Responsibilities
Design, implement, and manage network infrastructure using Cisco Catalyst series switches (2960, 1000, 3650, 3850, 9200, 9300) to ensure optimal performance and scalability Develop and maintain network architecture diagrams and documentation Configure, manage, and troubleshoot WatchGuard firewalls, including site-to-site (s2s) and remote access VPNs Implement security policies and procedures to safeguard network assets Deploy and manage Cisco wireless solutions, with a focus on the Cisco 9800 series controllers Ensure secure, reliable, and high-performance wireless connectivity across the organization Utilize monitoring tools like Zabbix to continuously monitor network performance and health Employ log collection systems such as ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) for network analysis and troubleshooting Respond to network incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions Ensure network infrastructure complies with industry standards and organizational security policies Conduct regular network audits and vulnerability assessments Analyze network capacity and performance trends to forecast future needs Optimize network configurations to improve efficiency and reduce latency Collaborate with other IT teams to support cross-functional projects and initiatives Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior network engineers and support staff Lead network-related projects, from planning and design through to implementation and post-deployment support Coordinate with vendors and service providers to ensure timely delivery of network services and solutions Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, procedures, and changes Generate regular reports on network performance, incidents, and resolutionsRequirements
Education – HigherSpecial with technical specialization Foreign languages (level) – English Upper intermediate Experience – A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar network engineering role Extensive hands-on experience with Cisco Catalyst 2960, 1000, 3650, 3850, 9200, and 9300 series switches Strong understanding of network design, deployment, and management using these Cisco platforms Proficiency in configuring and managing WatchGuard firewalls Expertise in setting up and troubleshooting site-to-site (s2s) and remote access VPNs Strong knowledge of network security best practices and implementation Experience with Cisco wireless solutions, particularly the Cisco 9800 series controllers Ability to design, implement, and manage secure and reliable wireless networks Experience with log collection systems like ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) for network monitoring and troubleshooting Proficiency in using monitoring tools like Zabbix to monitor network performance and identify issues proactively In-depth knowledge of networking protocols such as BGP, EIGRP, VLANs, STP, etc. Experience with network management protocols and tools (., SNMP, NetFlow) Strong analytical skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues Experience with packet analysis tools and network diagnostic techniques Ability to manage network-related projects from conception to completion Proficient in creating and maintaining detailed network documentation Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or WatchGuard certifications are highly desirable Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experiencePersonal skills
