Website Designer & Administrator

Location: Hybrid

Employment Type: 12 months contract (with 3 months probabtion)

Reports To: Marketing Manager

Job Summary:

We are looking for a creative and technically skilled Website Designer & Content Administrator to manage, maintain, and improve our websites across multiple brands and business units. This role requires both design creativity and strong web administration skills to ensure our websites are user-friendly, secure, and aligned with our brand and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities: 1. Website Design & Development
  • Design, update, and improve user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) across company websites.
  • Implement responsive design for desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
  • Design landing pages, banners, and multimedia content to support campaigns and product launches.
2. Web Administration & Maintenance
  • Oversee day-to-day website performance, ensuring uptime, speed, and SEO optimization.
  • Monitor site security, perform regular backups, and manage software/plugin updates.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and liaise with hosting providers and developers as needed.
3. Content Management
  • Upload and update content including articles, images, videos, and documents using CMS platforms
  • Collaborate with marketing and content teams to ensure brand consistency and accuracy of web content.
4. Analytics & Optimization
  • Set up and manage web analytics (Google Analytics, Tag Manager, etc.) to track traffic, conversions, and user behavior.
  • Monitor SEO performance and implement basic on-page SEO best practices.
  • Conduct A/B testing and optimize pages for lead generation and engagement.
5. Integration & Support
  • Integrate websites with CRM, email marketing, and analytics platforms.
  • Support internal teams with landing page creation, campaign microsites, and other digital assets.
  • Train team members on basic content updates and CMS usage.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Web Design, Computer Science, Digital Media, or a related field.
  • Proven experience designing and managing websites using CMS platforms like WordPress, Webflow, or Wix.
  • Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. (PHP knowledge is a plus.)
  • Familiarity with website optimization tools and SEO principles.
  • Graphic design skills using tools like Adobe XD, Figma, Canva, or Photoshop.
  • Good understanding of Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and marketing integrations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with e-commerce platforms (Shopify, WooCommerce).
  • Understanding of accessibility (WCAG) and data privacy regulations (GDPR, POPIA).
  • Experience managing multilingual or multisite web environments.
  • Familiarity with AI design tools and automation (e.g., ChatGPT, Midjourney, Zapier).
