Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Scala Data Engineer to join our team in Bangalore (Whitefield). The role involves building and optimizing scalable data pipelines, working with large-scale systems, and delivering high-performance data solutions in a cloud-native environment (Azure preferred).

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and optimize scalable data pipelines using Spark and Scala
  • Develop streaming pipelines with Kafka/Event Hubs
  • Design and architect data systems with a focus on performance and reliability
  • Mentor junior engineers and enforce high-quality coding standards
  • Collaborate across teams to ensure smooth product delivery

Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in data engineering
  • Hands-on experience with large-scale systems
  • Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms
  • Experience working in cloud-native environments (Azure preferred)
  • Proven ability to design and architect high-performance data systems

Skills & Technologies

  • Scala (preferred over Java), SQL, Apache Spark
  • Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms
  • Hadoop, Kafka, Structured Streaming/Event Hub
  • CI/CD tools: Git, Docker, Jenkins
  • Medallion Architecture, Parquet, Apache Iceberg
  • Orchestration tools: Airflow, Oozie
  • NoSQL databases
  • Data governance tools: Alation, Collibra, lineage, metadata
