Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Data Architect to design, implement, and manage our organization's data architecture. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data modeling, cloud platforms, data integration, and governance. You will play a critical role in building scalable, secure, and high-performing data ecosystems that support analytics, AI/ML, and business intelligence initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop scalable and reliable data architecture (OLTP, OLAP, Data Lake, Data Warehouse)
  • Define and implement data modeling, metadata, master data, and data governance standards
  • Evaluate and select appropriate database and cloud technologies (e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure)
  • Lead data integration strategies using ETL/ELT tools and APIs
  • Collaborate with data engineers, BI developers, data scientists, and stakeholders
  • Ensure data security, privacy, and compliance with regulatory requirements (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.)
  • Maintain data architecture documentation and system/data flow diagrams
  • Optimize performance of data systems and troubleshoot issues
  • Support data migration, cloud transformation, and modernization initiatives

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in data engineering or architecture roles
  • Expertise in data modeling (conceptual, logical, physical) using tools like Erwin, SAP PowerDesigner, or dbt
  • Hands-on experience with one or more cloud platforms: Google Cloud (BigQuery), AWS (Redshift), Azure (Synapse)
  • Proficient in SQL, NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra), and distributed data systems
  • Experience with ETL/ELT tools (Informatica, Talend, Apache NiFi, dbt, Airflow, Fivetran)
  • Knowledge of data governance and metadata management frameworks (Collibra, Alation)
  • Familiarity with Big Data platforms (Hadoop, Spark), and data lake architectures
  • Strong understanding of APIs, microservices, and real-time data processing (Kafka, Pub/Sub)
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications such as Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer, AWS Big Data Specialty, or Azure Data Engineer
  • Experience in DataOps, DevOps, and CI/CD for data pipelines
  • Exposure to AI/ML use cases and MLOps frameworks
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks like GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS
