IDC is seeking a Senior Research Analyst for Digital Platform Software Pricing Data.
This position at IDC might be the perfect fit for you. We're building a team of analysts as a part of an exciting new venture at IDC. We are seeking an analyst with experience to collect, analyze, and interpret data on pricing strategies for software vendors. This position will be central to developing insights to help technology executives confidently and quickly determine the best vendor for their critical software investment decisions.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities
Data discovery, identification and data collection around Software pricing data Data standardization - classification of unstructured text input into structured columns . Product, Module, SKU Data wrangling from unstructured formats into structured format – and collaboration with Data Engineering teams doing that at scale Data analysis including Quality checks, extracting key findings, suggested Quality Remediation Definition and co-development of statistical "discount methodology" extrapolated from existing datasets Agile collaboration with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Solution Engineers, Product dev teams (information exchange, decision making)Qualifications
Qualifications (Required)
5+ years experience as a Data Analyst, Market Analyst, Business Analyst or Data Scientist Strong understanding of IT and Software ecosystems and value chains Advanced Excel (. pivot, flat file, vlookup, offset, match) Advanced Power Point creation skills Statistical skills esp. around distribution analysis, quartile analysis, forecasting Communication skills – Explaining issues, findings effectively Analytical skills – . find and classify the important bits of data Attention to detail – doesn't get tired to find issues Coachability and willingness to learn new systems and skills Open feedback mindset (disagree and commit, candor) Creative data problem-solving including ability to create synthetic data with low-levels of data input Ability to gain trust, negotiate and work with technical teams and business stakeholdersQualifications (additional)
Understanding of modern data architectures (SQL, data lake, cloud plaftorms) SQL coding (query, join) Python/R for Data modelling Experience with LLM Chat interface search and Web data analysis (. Perplexity) Basic HTML editing or ability to use HTML no-code tools Previous experience in companies providing evaluation, benchmarking, vendor comparison solutions in software/cloud/IT space-
