Position Overview:
As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our technology and directly contributing to our products' success. You'll work closely with our CTO and senior engineering team to design, implement, and optimize advanced machine learning models. This role offers the opportunity to innovate, solve complex problems, and drive new initiatives that will impact our customers and the future of online retail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and implement sophisticated machine learning models and algorithms to solve challenging business problems and drive meaningful results.
- Collaborate with the CTO and senior engineering team to pioneer new approaches and spearhead company-wide initiatives to elevate our tech infrastructure.
- Work closely with other development teams to integrate and enhance software systems, taking ownership from conceptualization to implementation.
- Fine-tune models to ensure they are performant, accurate, and scalable to meet the demands of our growing platform.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest advancements in machine learning and AI, continuously improving our models with the latest tools and techniques.
- Partner with data engineers to design and develop scalable data pipelines and infrastructure for efficient model training and deployment.
- Participate in code reviews, provide feedback, and contribute to the development of robust machine learning processes and infrastructure.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years as a Machine Learning Engineer with a strong background in machine learning/deep learning theory and algorithms.
- Deep understanding of model optimization methods (e.g., 1st/2nd order methods, Bayesian optimization) and proficiency in frameworks such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Keras.
- Advanced Python skills and, a strong grasp of algorithms, data structures, and object-oriented programming.
- Hands-on experience in applying machine learning algorithms for natural language processing and generation tasks.
- Comfortable working with the Linux stack, including bash scripting, git, and package management.
- Familiarity with processing large-scale datasets.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with data platforms such as MongoDB, SQL, Lucene, or Elasticsearch.
- Familiarity with software development processes, including design, testing, coding, and peer reviews.
- Experience in creating modular software design for efficient and maintainable codebases.
