About the Company

We are seeking an accomplished database specialist with a strong combination of design skills, performance tuning and troubleshooting expertise around Exadata and GoldenGate. The ideal candidate has experience working on large enterprise class software product teams and has deployed services on popular cloud platforms like OCI, AWS or Azure.

The successful candidate is a self-motivated software professional with at least 10 years of industry experience. They should have prior experience administering large scale Oracle databases, preferably Exadata and GoldenGate deployments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Influence the design, capacity planning, and build-out of Exadata DB instances on Oracle Cloud infrastructure.
  • Automate key operational activities.
  • Administer middleware environments, including installation, configuration, migrations, tuning, patching, administration, and monitoring on any middleware platform such as Oracle.
  • Ensure the effective daily operation of production applications and provide administrative support for new implementations, upgrades, and migrations.
  • Maintain the DB system up to date and patched to the latest version in an automated fashion.
  • Develop solutions for automated DB health checks.
  • Interact with customers and developers for priority situations and respond in a timely manner.
  • Design HA/DR solutions for new Identity cloud services.
  • Conduct Performance, Scalability, and Reliability Analysis and database query tuning.
  • Troubleshoot HA/DR and Database Performance issues on existing cloud services.
  • Work with architects and development managers on requirements specification definition and detailed engineering analysis from data requirements perspective.
  • Own database/schema design documentation at component and product level.
  • Participate in rapid delivery planning, building, configuring, deploying, monitoring, and documenting for Oracle Cloud projects.
Qualifications:
  • At least 10 years of experience in database administration activities, including deploying large EXADATA systems, GoldenGate deployment, tuning, DB provisioning, defining efficient and automated processes for LCM, patch/upgrade, RMAN backup/recovery, and performance troubleshooting.
  • At least 4 years of experience in RAC / Oracle Exadata, Data Guard, Golden Gate.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree or equivalent experience relevant to the functional area.
  • Strong understanding of database Performance Troubleshooting/Tuning, SQL execution plan, AWR, ADDM, ASH, TKPROF, etc reports.
  • Full life-cycle product development experience.
  • Experience in PL/SQL and SQL Programming.
  • Oracle database server 11g/12c/18c concepts and its administration concepts.
  • Experience in Unix/Linux Shell, Perl, Ansible, and Python scripting.
  • Experience in REST API.
  • Understanding of DevOps Toolchain components and how they fit together; experience developing automation and using open source tools, GitHub, Jenkins.
  • Strong technical background in cloud networking, storage, and security.
