As we expand globally, we are seeking an IT Engineer to support our distributed team and ensure secure, reliable IT operations across systems, networks, and devices.
Role Overview
The IT Engineer (Remote) will be responsible for managing IT infrastructure, supporting employees with hardware/software needs, and maintaining secure access to company systems. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to work independently while coordinating with U.S.-based colleagues.
You will play a key role in ensuring smooth IT operations for a fast-growing, globally distributed startup.
Key Responsibilities
- IT Support & Troubleshooting
- Provide remote support for employees' hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
- Manage onboarding and offboarding processes, including provisioning laptops, accounts, and tools.
- Maintain documentation for IT support procedures.
- Systems Administration
- Manage user accounts and permissions across tools such as Google Workspace, Slack, GitHub, Jira, Zoom, and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Monitor system access and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Support VPN, endpoint security, and multi-factor authentication setup.
- Network & Security Management
- Implement IT security best practices to protect sensitive data (HIPAA, SOC2 alignment).
- Perform regular audits of access controls, patches, and updates.
- Respond to IT security incidents and escalate as needed.
- Process Improvement & Global Collaboration
- Suggest and implement improvements in IT processes and workflows.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to support remote deployments and field devices when needed.
- Provide overlapping coverage with U.S. hours for cross-team collaboration.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- 3+ years of IT support, systems administration, or similar experience.
- Strong knowledge of Windows, macOS, and Linux environments.
- Experience with Google Workspace / Office 365 administration.
- Familiarity with VPNs, firewalls, endpoint protection, and security best practices.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) is a plus.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment and collaborate across time zones.
