We are committed to fostering a culture of inclusivity and collaboration.About the RoleThe role involves conducting advanced nonlinear structural analysis in support of BD’s Medical, Interventional, and Life Sciences product development applications.ResponsibilitiesConduct advanced nonlinear structural analysis in support of BD’s Medical, Interventional, and Life Sciences product development applications.Utilize additional engineering tools (i.E. hand-calculations, DOE’s, optimizations) in conjunction with FEA and testing, to develop optimal solutions and obtain a more in-depth understanding of engineering problems.Develop Abaqus and MATLAB scripts (job launch and pre/post processing) to automate repetitive and routine simulations.Process raw material test data and characterize material properties to use in simulations.Maintain state-of-the-art DE competencies in structural analysis through training courses, seminars, and industry conferences.Interact with product development teams to examine options and develop plans to leverage DE tools and testing to optimize part performance.Promote and expand collaborative partnerships with BD’s business R&D teams, external partners, academic institutions, software vendors, and other related organizations.Adherence to all BD policies and procedures as well as any laws where applicable.QualificationsB.E. or M.E. in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent field.A minimum of 4 years of industrial experience with a B.E. qualification or a maximum of 9 years of experience with M.E. qualification, preferably in the medical devices industry computational modelling and simulation.In-depth domain experience in structural mechanics for complex engineering applications, including nonlinear solid mechanics, implicit and explicit simulations, and advanced constitutive material models.Industry experiences using analysis simulation tools effectively to impact product development with noted business impact, preferably within the medical product industry.Prior experience in working with a global R&D team.Required SkillsAdvanced knowledge of nonlinear structural analysis.Proficiency in Abaqus and MATLAB.Experience with FEA and testing methodologies.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Preferred SkillsExperience in the medical devices industry.Familiarity with DOE and optimization techniques.Ability to work collaboratively in a global team environment.Pay range and compensation packageCompensation details will be discussed during the interview process.Equal Opportunity StatementBD is an equal opportunity employer.
