Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd Responsibilities & Key DeliverablesAs a Manager - Indirect - Taxation at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, you will play a crucial role in advising the business on tax impacts from a Customs perspective on cross-border transactions. Your responsibilities will include determining effective rates of customs duties, reviewing past classifications, and suggesting measures for importation under various schemes to optimize tax benefits. You will collaborate with various stakeholders such as Customs House Agents, freight forwarders, and Customs Warehouse, ensuring compliance with Customs laws and regulations. Additionally, you will proactively identify opportunities to improve trade duty competitiveness and minimize compliance risks.Moreover, you will be responsible for managing and mitigating cases under litigation related to Customs duty, handling notices from tax authorities, drafting responses, and attending hearings. You will also liaise with Legal Counsels and tax experts, prepare appeals for appellate proceedings, and maintain records of pending cases at various stages. Furthermore, you will support tax compliance teams, create SOPs for uniform business practices, and provide training to stakeholders on Customs compliances.Preferred IndustriesManufacturingAutomotive IndustryEducation QualificationTo qualify for the role of Manager - Indirect - Taxation, you should possess a CA/ICWA qualification or a Post Graduation with LLB. Having a strong educational background in relevant fields will enable you to navigate complex Customs laws and procedures effectively. Your academic qualifications will equip you with the necessary knowledge and skills to excel in interpreting and applying tax regulations with precision and accuracy.General ExperienceWith 12-15 years of experience in Indirect Taxation, you bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the role of Manager - Indirect - Taxation. Your extensive experience in handling Customs compliance matters, overseeing litigation cases, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders prepares you for the challenges of this position. You have honed your skills in managing tax teams, conducting risk assessments, and staying abreast of regulatory changes to ensure compliance and minimize risks effectively.Critical ExperienceTo excel as a Manager - Indirect - Taxation at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, you must possess a complete understanding of various aspects of Indirect Taxation, especially Customs laws. Your critical experience includes expert knowledge in determining the classification of goods under the Customs Tariff, valuation methods, and accounting transactions under Customs and GST laws. Your proficiency in IT tools like SAP ERP system, MS Office utilities, and excellent drafting and communication skills are essential for effectively communicating with stakeholders and regulatory authorities. Additionally, your ability to lead tax teams, handle investigations by Special Valuation Branch, and resolve compliance concerns demonstrates your readiness to manage complex tax matters efficiently.
