About the role: As a Senior Fullstack Engineer at our company, you will play a crucial role in developing both the user-facing frontend and the backend systems powering the Foodsmart platform. You’ll be responsible for designing and maintaining scalable, high-performance web applications and backend services. You will work closely with both frontend and backend teams to create efficient APIs, manage data, and ensure a seamless user experience. Your contributions will directly impact the lives of our users, helping to bridge the gap between personalized nutrition seekers and registered dietitians providing expert guidance. You’ll have a passion for coding and a deep understanding of web technologies, enabling you to contribute to every layer of the product stack. AI-Driven Application Development Leverage Cursor, MCP servers, and OpenAI agents to accelerate development and build intelligent, AI-powered capabilities. Integrate AI services into both backend systems and frontend user experiences. Evaluate, fine-tune, and apply LLMs and AI models to solve real business problems. Collaborate with AI/ML teams to bring models from experimentation to production. Full-Stack Engineering Develop and maintain core features of the full-stack Foodsmart web application. Build responsive, accessible, and intuitive interfaces in collaboration with UX/UI designers. Implement scalable backend systems, APIs, and data flows supporting both AI and traditional features. Design and integrate RESTful APIs and third-party services. Quality, Debugging & Operations Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve issues across the entire stack—including AI pipelines. Proactively monitor and optimize system performance, reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency. Contribute to improving observability, testing coverage, and operational reliability. Collaboration & Delivery Work closely with product managers to refine requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Engage in code reviews, architectural discussions, and cross-team planning efforts. Communicate technical decisions, trade-offs, and progress to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Continuous Improvement Stay up-to-date on emerging AI, frontend, backend, and cloud technologies. Identify opportunities to leverage modern tools—including low-code platforms like Retool—to accelerate internal workflows. Contribute to shaping engineering best practices and improving development processes. You are: Proficient in using Cursor, MCP servers, and OpenAI agents to accelerate development and build AI-driven applications. Strong in software engineering fundamentals: algorithms, data structures, system design, and distributed application patterns. Skilled in both frontend and backend development using modern tools and frameworks. Strong at designing, consuming, and maintaining effective RESTful APIs. Experienced with SQL and NoSQL database systems. Excellent at debugging, performance optimization, and solving complex technical problems. A collaborative communicator who thrives in cross-functional environments. You have: 8+ years of professional experience in full-stack or AI application development. Deep experience with React.js, JavaScript, TypeScript , and strong backend experience with Node.js . Proven experience leveraging Cursor, MCP servers, and OpenAI agents in real applications. Strong background designing and integrating RESTful APIs. Deep experience with relational (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and non-relational (DynamoDB) databases. Familiarity with AWS services (Lambda, SQS, RDS, S3, SNS, EC2). Experience with Docker , container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes), and cloud infrastructure. Experience selecting, integrating, or fine-tuning AI/ML/LLM models. Experience deploying and operating AI/ML models in production environments. BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field. Preferred QualificationsExperience with LLM ecosystems (OpenAI, Anthropic, Llama), including fine-tuning, embeddings, and RAG pipelines. Experience building AI-driven experiences such as chatbots, recommendation engines, or workflow automations. Familiarity with vector databases and prompt engineering. Experience with MLOps tools (MLflow, Weights & Biases, SageMaker Pipelines).
