The Opportunity

DAT is looking for a Senior Software Developer Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our team in Bangalore, India. 

We're looking for an engineer who will be responsible for testing our web-scale, consumer-facing data visualization products. In this role, you will work with our team of product managers, UX designers, data scientists, and data engineering experts using cutting-edge tools to develop products that are reliable, scalable, and sustainable. You'll be working with the data from our industry-dominant network of brokers and carriers to bring actionable insights to our customers.

What You'll Do

Test analytics tools that utilize our data pipelines to provide actionable insights for our customers in the freight industry.Work across the stack from raw data to customer-facing APIs and UIsBuild and maintain automated tests that enable rapid software development and deliveryWork within a Scrum team as a developer and test automation specialist - planning, estimating, executing and improving.Complete development work, including writing unit, integration and end-to-end tests while contributing to Sprint backlog and overall team goalsMentor, advise and/or support the test automation work of teammates and SDET peersCommunicate and collaborate across Engineering teams as needed to meet Engineering-wide delivery goalsActively participate in engineering-wide testing community of practice among othersReview functional requirements and analyze their impact on schedule and software designWrite Stories describing problem to be solved and the technical breakdown of how to solve it

The Skills You'll Need

A degree in Computer Science Statistics, Engineering, Information Systems, or another quantitative field.5 years of professional experience working with and testing cloud-based web applications and REST APIsExperience with JavaScript/TypeScriptExperience using software project management tools such as JiraProficiency with version control and continuous integration tools such as git, GitHub, and JenkinsKnowledge and demonstrated application of software quality principles and practicesProficiency with software test automation tools, approaches and frameworks such as TestRail and Cypress (preferred), Selenium, Test Cafe, WDIO, Cucumber, Postman and mockingExperience writing tests ranging from unit tests to integration tests to end-to-end testsResilience and positive attitude in the face of challenges and obstaclesTeam-first mindset, effective communication and collaboration skillsEnthusiasm for learning and teaching othersExperience with Angular single page apps, GraphQL and NodeExperience with SQL and NoSQL databasesExperience with Cucumber
