As part of our growth, we are looking for an Assistant Manager – Design in our New Product Development (NPD) department.



Roles & Responsibilities

  • Design and develop press tools, welding fixtures, gauges, and jigs for sheet metal and fabricated components.
  • Interpret and review engineering drawings to create process-friendly designs.
  • Support the NPD team in part feasibility studies, process design, and BOM preparation.
  • Work closely with the tool room, production, and quality departments for design validation.
  • Assist during development trials, resolve tooling-related issues, and ensure manufacturability.
  • Contribute to APQP & PPAP deliverables in customer formats.
  • Liaise with external toolmakers and suppliers for outsourced tooling requirements.
  • Maintain technical documentation and design records.
  • Provide support during audits, technical reviews, and customer approvals.



Preferred Candidate Profile

  • Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 6–9 years of relevant experience in tool, fixture, and gauge design in the automotive/sheet metal industry.
  • Strong knowledge of press tools, welding fixtures, and gauge design.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo/Pro-E, UG-NX).
  • Familiar with APQP, PPAP, IATF 16949, and OEM-specific standards.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly.
