About the Role: We are seeking an experienced and driven Area Sales Manager to spearhead our sales and marketing initiatives in the Kolkata region.
The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in expanding our market share by crafting and implementing robust sales strategies, fostering relationships with distributors, and leading a dynamic sales team.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy & Performance Monitoring:
- Develop and implement sales strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on sales performance metrics to identify growth opportunities and areas for improvement.
- Ensure achievement of regional sales targets and profitability.
Team Management & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and motivate the regional sales team to achieve individual and team goals.
- Conduct regular training sessions to enhance the team's technical and sales capabilities.
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and performance management of sales personnel.
Market Expansion & Pipeline Management:
- Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
- Establish and nurture relationships with distributors, partners, and key stakeholders.
- Conduct market research to understand customer needs, industry trends, and competitor activities.
Collaboration & Planning:
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop and execute annual sales and marketing plans.
- Work closely with the marketing team to ensure alignment of strategies and campaigns.
- Provide insights and recommendations for product development and enhancements based on market Education: Bachelor's/Masters degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
- MBA is a plus.
Experience:
- 3+ years of proven experience in sales, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Experience in technical sales or related industry experience is highly desirable.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
Proficient in sales forecasting, pipeline management, and data-driven decision-making.
Familiarity with CRM software and sales performance tools
