About the role

We're looking for a pragmatic PHP developer who lives in the Laravel ecosystem — someone who writes clean, testable code, knows how to ship via GitHub and Laravel Forge, and has hands-on experience with MySQL and Redis. You'll build and maintain APIs and web apps, improve performance, and operate production services (deployments, rollbacks, simple observability).

Key responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, test and maintain web applications using PHP and the Laravel framework.
  • Build and consume RESTful APIs (and GraphQL where applicable).
  • Implement database models, migrations, seeders and optimize MySQL queries.
  • Use Redis for caching, sessions, queues or pub/sub features.
  • Manage deployments and infrastructure using Laravel Forge and GitHub-based workflows (PRs, CI/CD).
  • Maintain code quality using linters, PSR standards, and unit/integration tests.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, analyze logs, and perform rollbacks and hotfixes when needed.
  • Collaborate with product, QA and DevOps; participate in code reviews and design discussions.
  • Implement security best practices: input validation, auth, authorization, encryption, and secure storage of secrets.
  • Document features, architecture decisions, and runbooks for common ops tasks.
Experience and Exposure Requirements:
  • Strong hands-on experience with PHP and Laravel (5.x–10.x applicable experience).
  • Proven deployment/version control experience with Laravel Forge and GitHub (branching, PRs, merges).
  • Production experience with MySQL and Redis (caching, queues, sessions).
  • Solid understanding of MVC, OOP, SOLID principles, and Composer-based dependency management.
  • Ability to write and maintain migrations, Eloquent models and performant SQL.
  • Familiar with Git workflows (feature branches, code reviews, CI pipelines).
  • Good debugging skills and familiarity with application logging/monitoring tools.
  • PHP language fundamentals, error handling and exception management.
  • HTTP, REST principles, request lifecycle and middleware.
  • Experience with Docker and container-based local development.
  • Strong communication and teamwork — can explain technical trade-offs clearly.
  • Ownership mindset — comfortable taking a feature or incident from start to finish.
  • Attention to detail, test-first thinking and security-conscious coding.
