Job Description: Technical Lead – Application ModernizationRole OverviewThe Technical Lead will be responsible for understanding existing system architecture, driving modernization initiatives, and ensuring smooth migration from legacy technologies to modern frameworks. This role requires strong technical depth, leadership skills, and the ability to think systemically about scalability, optimization, and integration.Key Responsibilities - Architecture Analysis & Designo Understand current architecture and propose optimized, scalable designs.o Ensure interoperability across multiple subsystems and technologies. - Modernization & Developmento Lead migration from legacy (.NET, SSIS, scheduled jobs) to modern frameworks (Python, microservices).o Implement APIs and integration patterns for internal and external applications. - System Thinkingo Design solutions that consider scalability, performance, and maintainability.o Optimize workflows and reduce technical debt. - Leadership & Coordinationo Gather requirements, manage stakeholders, and ensure accountability.o Coordinate across teams and track deliverables. - Quality & Complianceo Enforce coding standards, testing strategies, and security best practices.Required Skills - Strong experience in Python and familiarity with .NET. - Knowledge of ETL tools (SSIS) and job scheduling/orchestration. - Expertise in API design, microservices, and system integration. - Ability to think strategically and execute tactically. - Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.________________________________________Evaluation Criteria & Framework1. Technical Competence (40%) - Architecture & System DesignCan the candidate design scalable, modular systems and explain trade-offs? - Programming SkillsHands-on coding in Python; ability to read/understand .NET code. - Integration & Migration KnowledgeExperience with legacy-to-modern transitions, APIs, and orchestration tools.2. Systemic Thinking & Optimization (20%) - Ability to reason about scalability, performance, and cost optimization. - Demonstrates understanding of interconnected systems and dependencies.3. Leadership & Communication (20%) - Requirement gathering, stakeholder alignment, and accountability. - Clear communication of risks, timelines, and technical decisions.4. Testing & Quality Assurance (10%) - Familiarity with unit/integration testing, CI/CD pipelines, and observability.5. Design Thinking & Problem Solving (10%) - Creative approach to solving complex technical challenges. - Ability to propose incremental migration strategies.
