Job Purpose

The General Manager - Packet Core & IMS Projects is responsible for driving the Project deployment, and lifecycle management of advanced packet core and IMS solutions to support next-generation telecommunication services. This role ensures the delivery of high-performance, scalable, and resilient core network infrastructure, aligning with industry standards and integrating emerging technologies such as 5G, VoLTE, VoWiFi, and cloud-native network functions (CNFs).

With accountability for end-to-end project execution, the GM will leverage expertise in EPC, IMS, and signaling protocols to optimize network integration, enhance service continuity, and streamline cross-functional workflows, ensuring robust, low-latency connectivity and an exceptional user experience across all Core projects and handover to Operations team

Key Responsibilities:

Centralize governance for all ongoing projects. Collaborate with SNOC, MS partners, OEMs, Circle teams, and various inter-functional teams to ensure timely execution of tasks and resolution of escalated issues. Ensure 100% compliance with project timelines and deliverables

Network Elements Involved (as per deployment):

IMS: Nokia, Mavenir, Oracle Packet Core: Nokia, Mavenir, Cisco

Key Result Areas/Accountabilities

Central Project Management

Project Delivery: Achieve 100% on-time delivery of all packet core and IMS projects, meeting defined milestones and quality standards.

Network Performance: Ensure high network performance and availability, targeting an uptime of 99.999% for core network services, measured through regular KPIs and performance metrics during the Project handover phase

Cost Management: Maintain project budgets, ensuring cost control measures are in place to avoid overruns while delivering projects within financial constraints.

Stakeholder Satisfaction: Attain a minimum stakeholder satisfaction through effective communication, timely updates, and successful resolution of issues.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure 100% compliance with industry regulations and internal policies throughout all project phases, conducting regular audits and assessments.

Team Development: Foster a high-performing team culture, with at least 80% of team members achieving professional development goals and participating in training initiatives.

Innovation and Improvement: Drive innovation within the team, implementing at least two new processes or technologies per year to enhance project efficiency and service delivery..

Capacity and Cost Management

Monitor of Project delivery timelines Proactive triggering to Planning team & Vendors for any Risk anticipated Sharing critical inputs during PID (project initialization documents) preparation and solutions for new products / expansions / optimization / consolidations along with planning/Code team, identifying gaps and suggesting changes for improvement. Playing active role in project kick and alignment with relevant stakeholders and proper Coordination with SNOC team

OEM/Cross-Functional Co-ordination

Arranging support from multiple stakeholders for new rollout & transformation projects in network. Provide critical technical guidance for issue resolution to SNOC & circle teams. Co-ordinate with IT for central IT related issues. Validation of Impact analysis of any new SW or change in domain. Co-ordinate with IT, Planning, Project teams, Mediation, RA, PMS to ensure smooth cutovers in sync with circle and SNOC. Analyze business requirement for new project rollout and support migrations and capacity additions in live network as per timelines.

Competency development / In-house training

Functional and Leadership - Coaching the team members to handle operations in LI and SDM domains. Develop people to help individual for lateral and vertical growth. Responsible for sharing best practices and provide coaching and support to subordinates and Circle LI-SPoCs

Core Competencies, Knowledge, Experience

SME in Core Project (IMS & Packet Core)domain with profound understanding of Voice, Data & Project management with Multi Vendor environment Good understanding of Project Management Expertise in multivendor Voice & Data Core platforms Fair knowledge of network architecture, designing and solutioning. In depth understanding of Core deployment of PKC & VOICE core domain Considerable experience in coordinating with vendors, internal teams for timely deliverables Strategic thinking, strong customer focus & seamless approach. Timely decision making and risk assessment skills.

Must have technical / professional qualifications

BE/B. Tech in Electronics & Communication PMP & Cloud related certification would be added advantage Good Project management & stakeholder-management skills Effective communication and inter-personal skills Proactive in approach with positive attitude
