This role isresponsible for execution of mechanical design with some autonomybut guided by established practices, policies, or review of endresults. The job allows modification of procedures and practiceswhile meeting standards ofacceptability.

JobDescription

EssentialResponsibilities: 

  • Involvesin design and development of aircraft engines components fromconceptual design phase till testing and validation of concepts.Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline, analyticalthinking and technical experience to execute projects/programs.
  • Owns and leadsprograms with low risk and resource requirements and functionallyacts independently following established practices. Acts as aresource for colleagues with less experience. Explains information;developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topicswithin field.
  • Responsible todevelop project plan and execute as per plan. Expected to leveragethe LEAN principles and tools while executingprojects.
  • Hasknowledge of best practices and able to work with adjacencies andmultidisciplinary team; is aware of the competition and the factorsthat differentiate them in the market.
  • Uses some judgmentand has some ability to propose different solutions outside of setparameters to address more complicated manufacturing and designprocesses. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Usesmultiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teamsto arrive atdecisions.

Qualifications/Requirements:  

  • MTech(Master of Technology)/ MS (Master of Science) in Mechanical /Aerospace Engineering from an accrediteduniversity
  • 8+ years of experience in mechanicaldesign and analyses of gas turbine rotorcomponents
  • Experience in tools: Ansys andUnigraphics
