Your new role
As our new Assistant Engineer, Structures, REC, you will be part of a world class, innovation driven engineering design centre Ramboll Engineering Centre (REC)...
Your key responsibilities will be:
Structural Design of (Concrete / Steel) Structures, understanding of various design methods and design accordingly. Prepare design specifications and design criteria Designing pre-fabricated/ pre-cast and post tensioned structures, handle the designing of multi-stored multi-storied/ high-rise buildings Be responsible for cost analysis, generation of structure loading schemes, wind and seismic loading calculations on structures and design. Design and detailing for steel, concrete and other materialsYour new team
You will be part of REC was established as a dedicated institution for creating the excellence centre in Ramboll. REC focusses on providing global expertise using local resources from India. Facilitates cooperation between India, business units in Europe and the Middle East specifically for the Buildings, Transport and Water sectors.
This big team is divided into groups of dedicated personnel working for structures in UK, Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Norway who sometimes also work across these boundaries. They are virtual team mates working on common projects, prime business units in the above countries being the ones who coordinate with the clients and other consultants as well as with REC to pass on the design solutions to the user. The wide range in type of projects vary from high rise structures, to precast, to post tensioning etc., for some regions to industrial structures depending on the country you are working for. The most attractive thing is in spite of the challenges of working across continents, because of the culture of planning ahead and ability to understand each other's needs, everyone works in a peaceful and lively manner, enjoyment and empowerment being some of the Ramboll values.

These include:
BE/B. Tech degree in Civil Engineering from an institute of repute. ME/ M. Tech would be desirable. Must possess 2 to 4 years hands-on design experience including in the design of foundations, reinforced concrete structures and steel structures. Must have a sound technical understanding of structures and experience of Designing (Concrete / Steel) structures, including both substructure and superstructure. Personal qualities that will help you succeed in this role include: Experience with the European design code (Euro code)/ British Codes (BS) will be added advantage. Candidates having experience in working with Multinational Companies / overseas will be preferred. Proficiency in STAAD and any other applicable software like ETABS and STRUSOFT. Excellent command of the English Language with proven report writing skills. Have strong communication, client handling skills. Should be a good team member and should coordinate with other team members and the project manager for timely delivery of project-
