Now we are looking for a Senior Database Engineer , you will be a part of our Global Delivery team.

Job Overview: Key to this role is the ability to craft scalable database designs that support both transactional processes for web applications and analytical processes for our data warehouse. The Senior Database Engineer will not only take charge of implementing and optimizing physical data models but also work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless data integration across the enterprise. Responsibilities include data modeling, performance tuning, data management, and providing support for data analytics and business intelligence activities. The role demands a proactive approach to monitoring and scalability, with a mandate to ensure our databases offer optimal performance and reliability for our users and clients.

Your Impact on the Mission:

  • Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex database solutions and ensure high levels of data availability.
  • Develop and manage a data warehouse environment that supports the company's BI needs.
  • Optimize database systems for performance efficiency.
  • Design and implement redundant systems, policies, and procedures for disaster recovery and data archiving to ensure effective protection and integrity of data assets.
  • Perform database administration tasks, including maintenance, backup and recovery, performance tuning, and monitoring.
  • Collaborate with development teams to advise on database structures, storage, and retrieval processes.
  • Implement and maintain database security controls and documentation.
  • Provide proactive and reactive data management support and training to users.
  • Determine, enforce, and document database policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy, and integrity.
  • Monitor database performance, implement changes, and apply new patches and versions when required.
  • Liaise with developers to improve applications and establish best practices.
  • Gather user requirements and identify new features.
  • Develop technical and training manuals.

What You'll Bring to The Table – About You:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with database technologies, including proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server and/or PostgreSQL.
  • Strong experience in database design, architecture, and warehousing.
  • Expert knowledge of SQL, including stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
  • Experience with web application development and deployment environments.
  • Familiarity with ETL processes and experience in integrating multiple databases.
  • Hands-on experience with database standards and end user applications.
  • Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security and integrity procedures.
  • Previous experience in mentoring junior developers and leading projects is preferred.
