Data engine is one of the most critical pieces in the entire application development lifecycle. We are one of the core engine teams in platform engineering at Pega. It's a small team, highly focused, and follows agile principles. The team is responsible for end-to-end delivery of the software starting from development to release to the operational side of things.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

What You'll Do at Pega:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Software Engineer to join our Engineering Support Success team. You will work independently to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, new features and implement bug fixes. Your expertise will be crucial in providing technical guidance and support to the team, ensuring that our software products continue to meet the highest standards of quality and performance. As a Principal Software Engineer, you will also have the opportunity to be trained as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in data engine domain. This will involve deepening your knowledge of our products and technologies and becoming a go-to resource for technical expertise within the organization. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, quality assurance, and customer support, to drive continuous improvement and innovation.

Pega Feature Areas are Data base connection management, Persistence layer (Database APIs), Class Loader, Class Mapping, Schema Management, High Availability Passivation, Cloud self service tools (Query runner), DB Trace, Batch ID generation, Locking APIs, Case Archival

Who You Are:

Exposure to database technologies (Stored procedures, DB Indexes, Explain plans) 6 – 10 years of experience at Java programming Java multi-threading, Exposure to caching technologies XML and XSLT transformations Solid understanding of data structures and design patterns Ability to diagnose and have debugging skills (Exposure to profiling tools) Proficient in problem solving Exposure to Devops fundamentals and test automation Good to have knowledge on Kubernetes and AWS. Working in Early morning Shift - 4:30 AM - 1:30 PM

What You've Accomplished:

Developed and maintained persistence layer in complex systems by interacting with various Databases like Oracle, MySQL, Postgress etc. Exposure to in-memory caching mechanisms on data bases Developed robust software products using Java and related frameworks. Exposure to K8s and AWS
