About the Job

The Global Knowledge Coordinator will report to the Global Knowledge Manager and is responsible for the day-to-day provision of capacity strengthening materials to Better Cotton Programme Partners and colleagues. The Global Knowledge Coordinator will ensure that the knowledge and learning platforms operated by the Global Programmes Team are functioning effectively and can be easily accessed by users.

The Global Knowledge Coordinator will coordinate closely with colleagues from Country Teams and other functions to ensure the knowledge and learning materials provided are accurate and up to date. There are no line management responsibilities associated with this role.

Responsibilities

The Global Knowledge Coordinator will be responsible for the following and other duties as assigned:

Knowledge Coordination

Knowledge Management Delivery

In collaboration with the Director of Farm Programme Quality and Partnership, and the Global Knowledge Manager, the Global Knowledge Coordinator will support the delivery of knowledge management services, which includes:

Day-to-day coordination of the knowledge management plan Maintaining and updating the Knowledge Hub, an interactive digital platform that provides access to up to date capacity strengthening materials, updates on the new Principles & Criteria, events and other relevant content to support our Programme Partners and Better Cotton colleagues with the implementation of the Better Cotton programme and compliance with the Better Cotton standard requirements. Designing and distributing quarterly Knowledge Hub newsletters highlighting new materials, upcoming events, and webinar recordings in multiple languages. Supporting the IT team with the migration of user access from Sharepoint to Salesforce Developing new training modules covering topics included in the Principles and Criteria based on existing guidance documents, for Programme Partner field staff to support their implementation of the Better Cotton programme with farmers. This development is carried out in collaboration with thematic leads and Country Team colleagues on the Moodle Learning Management System (LMS)1. Supporting Country Team administrators in managing the LMS users in their countries and in creating additional training modules to facilitate local implementation by partners. Responding to user queries for the Knowledge Hub and LMS platforms to ensure continuous access for all users. Analysing user statistics on existing knowledge sharing and learning management systems to inform the continuous improvement of user engagement and learning. Consulting and collaborating with Knowledge Working Group colleagues to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the existing offering and opportunities for new initiatives. Supporting country colleagues in developing capacity strengthening materials when necessary. Create and implement a Knowledge Partner Engagement Strategy.

Programme Partner Dialogue

Better Cotton brings together its global network of partners to share knowledge, best practices and learn from experts and each other during an annual symposium and quarterly webinars. The symposia currently alternate between face to face and virtual events. The Global Knowledge Coordinator will:

Support the organisation and delivery of the Partner Meetings, including, agenda preparation, the showcasing of Partner innovations, selection of the Producer Unit Manager of the year and report writing. Work with the Global Knowledge Manager to evaluate the success of the symposium to inform and guide future improvements. Identify relevant and engaging topics for the quarterly webinars in consultation with the Knowledge Working Group Coordinate with the designated speakers/internal colleagues to organise the presentations. Facilitate and take notes of the discussions during the webinars, write reports and upload all materials onto the Knowledge Hub after the event

Programme Partner Performance Monitoring Tool

The Knowledge Management coordinator will also be tasked with supporting the Partnerships Manager with the implementation of the Power BI Dashboard for the Programme Partner Monitoring tool which assesses partner performance across a range of KPIs. This will include:

Improving and managing the data collection tool for collecting data related to all KPIs across functions and countries. Creating a user manual to guide the effective use of the Performance Monitoring Tool. Maintaining and updating a clear, detailed user guide to assist colleagues in using the data collection tools. Disseminate the user guide and be the focal point to support users of the tool and ensure effective use. Maintenance of Power Bi to ensure that Power Bi and the associated dashboards are accurate and representative of our partners' performance Attend regular discussions with functions and country teams to collect feedback on the platform and make improvements.

Meeting Facilitation and Collaboration

The Coordinator role requires the facilitation and collaboration with Better Cotton colleagues for different meetings, examples of some of them are given below:

Programmes and Assurance Community bringing together members of the Programmes and Assurance teams to discuss issues of mutual interest Global Programmes where senior country team and global programmes teams colleagues meet for monthly activity updates Knowledge Working Group – a consultation group comprising colleagues from country teams and other functions to provide input on current and proposed knowledge management activities

Administration

The Global Knowledge Coordinator will be required to undertake the following Team Champion roles on behalf of the Global Programmes Team:

Power BI Intranet Mentimeter (an interactive response gathering software package) Risk Register Project / Activities Document detailing projects and pilots in which Partners are involved

The selected candidate will have the following skills, knowledge, and experience:

Essential

University degree, and/or professional experience, in a relevant field Demonstrated work experience in Knowledge Management and administrative support Previous experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS), including content creation and module development. Experience working with colleagues across various countries and remotely. Demonstrated ability to adapt to diverse scenarios and cultural contexts, fostering effective international teamwork. Experience in planning, coordinating, and preparing webinars, including managing speakers and materials. Demonstrated interest in sustainability and international development Proactive attitude to problem-solving Clear, considerate communicator Ability to convert complex information into easy to understand messages Strong project management and coordination skills: organisation, time management, ability to work independently Familiarity with Microsoft tools, including Microsoft Lists and SharePoint, for editing and creating content; Strong user of Excel and Power BI to manage data, create reports, and perform analyses; Word, PowerPoint and Outlook

Desirable

Fluency in French for effective communication and collaboration with colleagues and partners in West African countries; alternatively competency in languages relevant to Better Cotton countries, such as Mandarin, Portuguese, Hindi, Urdu, or Turkish would be beneficial Understanding of agriculture Academic and/or professional background in sustainable agriculture or international development Experience organising international events Experience of working/living in a country in which BCI operates

Working arrangements

The position is full-time (40 hours per week) and will be based either in Abidjan, Lahore or Delhi. Better Cotton offers flexible working, with core hours being 10 am – 4 pm. Occasional international travel will be required to visit Better Cotton producer countries and attend the in-person format of the Programme Partner Meeting.
