Job Description:

The R&D, Analyst III, Agile Sourcing role is part of a global team collaborating with category leaders and business partners on procurement execution through data analytics and sourcing.

This role builds an understanding of BMS's global value chain as it relates to the categories in focus. Key responsibilities include leading data analytics projects, developing purchasing strategies, supporting sourcing projects, and negotiating contracts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead data analytics efforts to optimize procurement decisions by partnering with stakeholders, developing datasets, conducting financial analyses, and generating recommendations.
  • Develop or leverage quantitative methodologies to predict future demand or pricing trends.
  • Create visualizations to communicate findings effectively.
  • Work with the procurement organization on continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Partner with supporting functions to evaluate current and potential tools for use within the procurement ecosystem.
  • May directly engage supplier contacts to meet BMS requirements.
  • Support end-to-end implementation of Sourcing and Contracting Strategy by managing a large book of work, leading initiatives, and preparing competitive bids.
  • Evaluate competitive offerings, assess supplier product and pricing information, conduct negotiations, and communicate decisions externally.
  • Prepare, issue, and negotiate contracts for legal review and approval.
  • Provide insights from internal and market analytics to influence strategic category plans.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • B.S./B.A. (Business, Science, or Engineering is desirable)
  • Minimum of 5 years' work experience with at least 3 years in procurement or a relevant field
  • Clear understanding of drug development and life cycle management process
  • Strong contracting acumen with experience in negotiating complex contracts
  • Experience in leveraging industry standard data analytical & visualization tools
  • Expertise in procurement processes, technology, and systems
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with and manage internal stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of data analytics, category management, project, and performance management
