The Opportunity
As the Senior Design Operations Manager, you will be pivotal in optimizing and scaling our UX design processes, ensuring operational excellence across our design teams. Your role will involve strategic planning, resource management, and enhancing collaboration to support Nutanix's product and engineering Nutanix and play a crucial role in driving operational excellence and innovation within our UX design teams, contributing to our mission of making computing invisible anywhere. About the Team At Nutanix, our Design team prides itself on embodying a philosophy that integrates design and customer delight into every aspect of the product cycle. With a design-first approach that mirrors the consumer-grade design of industry giants like Apple and Tesla, we bring together web-scale engineering and innovative solutions to craft a remarkable user experience. Our team spans across the US, Germany, and India, fostering a collaborative culture that values pushing boundaries, timeliness, and quality. We are empowered by our leaders to excel, work together, and strive for continuous improvement, making every day exciting and fulfilling.You will report to the Senior Manager of Design Operations at Nutanix. Working in a hybrid setup, the expectation is for employees to be in the office two days a week. This setup allows for a balance between in-person collaboration and remote work flexibility. Your Role Strategic and Operational Management: Lead and manage the planning and allocation of design resources, ensuring alignment with product and engineering objectives. Develop and refine operational processes to improve design outputs' efficiency, quality, and scalability. Conducted key operational reviews, including Quarterly State of Design reviews, and reported on performance metrics. Process Optimization: Implement and manage advanced project management tools and methodologies to enhance cross-team collaboration and project execution. Continuously evaluate and improve design workflows, removing bottlenecks and enhancing productivity. Team Development and Leadership: Support the career development and professional growth of the UX design team through targeted training and enablement initiatives. Organize and facilitate team-building activities and all-hands meetings to foster a strong and cohesive design culture. Mentor and guide junior design operations staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence. Enhancing Design Impact: Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and other stakeholders to ensure it's user-centric in design processes. Drive the adoption of best practices in UX design and operations, positioning Nutanix as a leader in innovative design solutions. Develop and monitor KPIs to measure the effectiveness and impact of design operations, providing insights for strategic improvements. What You Will Bring 7+ years of experience in UX design operations or management within a high-tech, high-growth environment. Strong background in strategic planning, resource management, and operational process improvement. Exceptional project management and organizational skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. Excellent detailed and data-driven decision-making skills. Superior communication and interpersonal skills, capable of aligning various stakeholders and conveying complex concepts clearly. Proficiency with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Tableau, Figma, Google Suite, SharePoint, Slack, and Microsoft 365. Experience with B2B enterprise-scale operations, cross-functional and cross-geographical teams, and a solid understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) framework. BS or BA in Management, Business, Computer Science, Design, HCI, or equivalent. Results-Oriented: Proven track record of achieving significant outcomes and driving operational improvements in a complex environment. Detail-Oriented and Organized: A meticulous approach to operations with the ability to manage detailed reporting and insights that drive strategic decision-making. Multitasking Proficiency: The ability to manage multiple strategic work-streams and initiatives, balancing short-term demands with long-term goals. ---
