Role Overview

We’re looking for a Director of SOC to lead Mitigata’s cyber security services and products line. The Director of SOC will lead Mitigata’s Security Operations Center, overseeing real-time security monitoring, threat detection, incident response, red teaming, and vulnerability assessments for our clients. This strategic role demands deep expertise in modern security tools and hands-on leadership in building, scaling, and evolving security operations.

Key Responsibilities

SOC Leadership & Operations:

• Oversee 24x7 SOC operations, ensuring timely detection and response to cybersecurity threats.
• Lead and mentor SOC analysts, red team members, and incident responders.
• Define KPIs, SLAs, and playbooks for incident management and escalation.

Threat Intelligence & Detection:

• Integrate threat intelligence feeds into SOC processes.
• Supervise creation and tuning of detection rules across SIEM and EDR platforms.
• Guide proactive hunting activities and advanced threat modeling.

Red Teaming & VAPT:

• Build and lead red teaming functions simulating real-world attacks.
• Oversee vulnerability assessment and penetration testing (VAPT) engagements for clients and internal systems.
• Ensure remediation guidance is contextual and risk-based.

Tool Stack & Technology Oversight:

• Drive deployment, configuration, and optimization of tools such as SIEM, EDR, XDR, firewalls, and threat intelligence platforms.
• Evaluate new security technologies and oversee POCs for integration.

Team & Leadership

• Build and lead a high-performance Cyber Security Team
• Mentor analysts and ethical hackers to scale impact
• Collaborate cross-functionally with growth, product, and sales teams

Client & Stakeholder Engagement:

• Serve as the escalation point for security incidents and executive-level reporting.
• Work closely with MSSP clients to tailor monitoring strategies and risk dashboards.
• Support sales and pre-sales efforts by articulating Mitigata’s SOC capabilities.

Key Skills & Qualification

• 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 5 years leading SOC, red team, or threat intel functions.
• Strong understanding of attacker tactics (MITRE ATT&CK), SIEM rule logic, incident response frameworks, and detection engineering.
• Proven experience with tools like Splunk, QRadar, CrowdStrike, Palo Alto, SentinelOne, Trellix, etc.
• Expertise in red teaming methodologies and hands-on VAPT experience.
• Ability to lead and scale high-performance security teams.

Preferred Certifications

• Certifications: CISSP, OSCP, GCIA, GCIH, CEH, or equivalent.
• Experience working with MSSPs or in regulated industries (e.g., BFSI, healthcare).
• Exposure to cloud security operations (AWS, Azure, GCP).
